Amazon echo dot with domoticz
Hello guys,
I wanna create an ha bridge to make my echo dot compatible with my domoticz. I've Googled the living hell out of this but cannot find a guide which explains how to do this on the same pi as where I'm running my domoticz. Domoticz wiki do have a guide but that is optimized for installing the ha Bridge on an extra pi.
Can anyone assist me, I'm in my starter learning face with my pi and ssh so I guess I'm a novice here.
Do anyone have a guide for this matter? I would be much appreciative.
Thank you.

Re: Amazon echo dot with domoticz
you can get it running without HA-bridge https://github.com/madgeni/alexa_domo and viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9446
I first used ha-bridge and now alexa-domo.
I am happy with it.

Re: Amazon echo dot with domoticz
at this moment there is no way to send info to the Dot, without the dot asking for it.
no push messages what so ever
however They say, that it will come

Re: Amazon echo dot with domoticz
This may be a silly question, but do I need a public IP to make echo dot (or google home) working with
- HA bridge? (my understanding is that I do not need a public IP as this happens locally, from what I can read, google home is out of the question now)
- Alexa_domo? (my guess is that this one would actually requires public IP)
-IFTTT and echo/google home? (again, I assume that this requires public IP)
By public IP I mean an address that can be reached from anywhere in the Internet (directly or via port forwarding).
My router is behind ISP's router so dynamic DNS cannot be applied and I cannot do port forwarding on ISP's router.
The only way for me to get inside the ISP's network is using VPN and then port forwarding on my own router.

As far as I understand Alexa the amazon service need to connect back to your application to respond or hand over the requested action ( voice translated into text) to have your app to act to the text request.
I am currenty using http://www.controlicz.com/ and must say it works great and very simple. The requirement of having a 3rd party a direct connection/login to my system makes me looking for an alternative..

That is, they transform devices connected to them on and off and furthermore permit some time or booking highlights. In any case, what the S20's can't do out of the case yet, that others that are more costly can, coordinate flawlessly with Amazon Echo, so you can utilize your voice to advise Alexa to switch the lights on and off. In any case, if you're willing to invest a tiny bit of energy, you can, truth be told, assignment writing help get everything to work utilizing the Home Automation programming, Domoticz and an interface to Alexa, called HA Bridge.
Re: Amazon echo dot with domoticz
Sorry, not sure what is the conclusion. Are you sayig that HA bridge is the only solution without direct access from the internet or is HA bridge out of the question too?
