Hi,
I have an issue with Domoticz and ZWave devices. I have the last version of Domotizc and a Gen5 USB ZWave.
I've had a power outage a few days ago and since then, Domoticz don't get any value from my smart plug. Before the Watt information was fine, now it has not been updated since the outage and the nodes appear in Red in Domoticz.
I have restarted the Pi / Domoticz to no avail.
I don't think it's a ZWave problem since the values in OZW Controller are completely fine and are updated all the time, just not in Domoticz.
What is even more weird is that sending commands to the device is working, I can turn the plug on and off from Domoticz, but it doesn't get any value back.
What should I do ?
Thanks
Domoticz don't get information from Zwave devices anymore

Re: Domoticz don't get information from Zwave devices anymore
I experienced this kind of problem when re-including z-wave hardware. In fact, Domoticz still had IDXes from previous z-wave inclusion ID (they increment each time) in it's own hardware table. They do not seem to be cleared when associated hardware is not there anymore.wichtounet wrote: I don't think it's a ZWave problem since the values in OZW Controller are completely fine and are updated all the time, just not in Domoticz.
This looked to cause problem at re-inclusion for some endpoints having duplicates from previous one: They were not there in Domoticz. I had to exclude again; remove the old remnants in hardware table & include again to see everything back.
But usually, a power fail will not trigger a re-inclusion???
So, as a first try, I would try to wake-up the device (usually one or several press of inclusion button): This should trigger the device to send it's configuration data back to Domoticz. On a power-fail, every device restarting & sending it's config data makes the z-wave network quite busy & maybe something was missed that may be fixed by a manual trigger when everything calmed down.
I recently had to do this for a Neo PIR (was not red, indeed, but sensor was quiet seen since several days despite being in my kitchen & still lighting when someone was in sight).

Re: Domoticz don't get information from Zwave devices anymore
sometimes I have se same issue with some specfic devices (Aeotec DSB28 power meter)
it seems that the outage kepps freezing the device....
without excluding and reincluding the device (operation not necessary) you can try one of these wayes:
wakeup the device check with the manual how to do that) or refresh from OZWCP
powercycle again the device (if possible)
reconfigure the device (change a parameter, send it and config it back)
of course we're not talking about battery powered device

The most dangerous phrase in any language is:
"We always done this way"
"We always done this way"

I also runned into this kind of problem on battery powered devices, thus not concerned by the power outage. Indeed, a wakeup also did the job, but the issue may more probably be in the controller/z-wave network restart IMO.emme wrote:sometimes I have se same issue with some specfic devices (Aeotec DSB28 power meter)

On my side, I spent 20 bucks on aliexpress for a chinese 12V "UPS" that now sits in front of my router... and as my PI3 is powered by the router USB, both get a few hours power outage protection.
As I also have some alarm stuff, this was more to get protected is someone shorts a plug in my garden before trying to get in & still be able to send network notifications... But this also helped not getting in this kind of problem (and many others, like file-system problems from unclean PI shutdowns) too frequently.

Re: Domoticz don't get information from Zwave devices anymore
Hi,
Sorry for the delay, I haven't had time for my home automation hobby this last month
Thanks for the answer.
Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to fix the issue for the specific device. The two switches still work for On/Off, but the reporting of the Power.
However, Domoticz was giving me two "Usage" device for each of them and apparently the other device never stopped working :S I didn't think of testing the other device before :s
The previous two are still red, but now I'm using the other two and it seems to work. Up to the next power outtage...
I'll definitely consider an UPS for my Domoticz installation. My servers are already protected with a large UPS, but a small one for the Domoticz Pi would help.
Thanks
