Powerline network instability with z-wave smart plug connected?

Post by visser »

I've noticed a disruption in network traffic over my Powerline home network (Netgear PL1000) when my Neo-cam (EU type/Netherlands) z-wave smart plug is connected to a nearby power connector on the same circuit in my home. It comes to a stop as soon as the smart plug is connected to mains and restores immediately after removing the smart plug.

Netgear support suggested trying a smart plug from another manufacturer or putting the smart plug on a surge protector board but I'm leaning towards purchasing a Powerline line filter to clean the signal or scrap the Powerline network altogether and run CAT6 under the house between the lounge and home office. Have you run into this or have any suggestions?

My suggestion would to run a cat6 cable under the house if possible. If you want to use filters you ned to know what to filter and how much

I have the same problem. I have a TP-Link Powerline in the same twin socket with the Toon slimme stekker.
Speed slows down so it interferes somehow. Only solution for me is removing the smart plug.
