Hi, i have a working Pi B+ with Aeon Labs Z-Stick S2 and multiple sensors (all working fine)
now i bought the Pi3 and a Aeotec ZW090 Z-Stick Gen5
Now i want to add all my sensors that are in pi b+ into the Pi3
So i'm putting my ZW090Gen5 zwave stick in adding mode and i want to add my zwave sensors 1 by 1
but this is not working
Can zwave sensors not be bound to multiple controllers?
If i exclude a sensor from my pi b+ and add to the pi3, then it works.
But i want to shutdown my old pi b+ when my Pi3 is fully operational, not before. So first i want all sensors to be added, then i can upload all my scripts and shutdown the old pi B+
Someone has a reason why this is not working? Thank you
2 zwave controllers

Re: 2 zwave controllers
Exclude everything from the old, include in the new. Couple of hours work and you're back up running.

Re: 2 zwave controllers
thanks Egregius, thought that would be the only solution :p
was just hoping i could begin starting with it now, but the old setup is still working; because i wont be able to manage the whole setup by tonight and then my heating (your heating script
will not be running then tomorrow morning and i'm pretty sure my wife will be upset, haha
so will start tomorrow evening

Re: 2 zwave controllers
I never tried it, but i think it is possible to have 2 controllers in a zwave network. And then you can sent the configuration from one controller to the other. That must be a way to transfer your configuration from piB ro pi3.

Re: 2 zwave controllers
To do a network shift between controllers, you will need to start off by including the Z-Stick Gen5 into the Z-Stick S2 network.
First download the Zensys Tool which will be a very helpful tool in achieving many of these steps

Re: 2 zwave controllers
I have domoticz running as a secondary controller to my vera.
I just added the stick onto Domoticz then under setup I selected "recieve configuration from another controller" or similar.
On the vera I just added a generic device.
Once included I have the option on Domoticz to do a controller shift, I guess it would just be a case of telling one to transfer primary role and the other to recieve configuration.

Re: 2 zwave controllers
Hi Domosapiens, i tried to use this and the including and shifting and all worked with the tool.
But when i plugged my new Z-Stick Gen5 in my new pi3 and added a zwave device, all idx where added (the amount was correct)
but a lot of them showed unknown and etc.
Gonna try again tonight, maybe my openzwave is an old one on my new pi3
(should not may happen as i did a clean install according to the wiki pages, but will check again and try)

Re: 2 zwave controllers
Names are not transferred, because they are not on the stick.
You have to name them by hand (as on the other stick)
