Hi,
I'm getting used to z-wave and making some great progress thanks to the wealth of info, however I have a project and looking for a fast start.
requirement is simply for fridge and freezer monitoring (need to take readings every 15 mins through-out the day)
however some of the fridges above are in a mobile catering truck, and some of the freezers are in a stationary storage unit.
what's the best way to set this one up, indeed is it possible? none of the sensors seem to record locally until the controller is re-connected, meaning i think i need a controller on the truck yes?
then if i had a controller on the truck can/should i have another in the unit? and can they talk to each other? i'm favouring z-wave sticks onto a Synology NAS at the mo, but is there a better way to join all this up?
main objective here is record frequent temps of all freezers and fridges throughout the day, and record into a set of outputs with minimal (none preferred) manual intervention on a daily basis?
any bright ideas out there?
mobile in-vehicle sensors and 2 controllers?

Put a Raspberry Pi in the (mobile) truck and run a separate Domoticz instance on it. Use 1-Wire temperature sensors in your fridges/freezers. Share these sensors with your main Domoticz instance via WiFi (assuming you have WiFi coverage where you park). For bonus points, plug the mobile Pi into a 3G/4G router and keep the data flowing wherever you are.
