Update Temperature Sensor using Device Name

Is this possible? I know how to update the sensor value using the Idx but ideally need to use the sensor name to either lookup the Idx or to update the sensor.

I have a script that loops over an API response and updates armed statuses and temperature readings from Blink cameras. All worked fine when I only had 1 camera but now there is more than one I need to be able to select the appropriate device to update in the loop. The response contains the camera name which matches with my device names so it should be simple. The switches work fine, just can't get the temp sensor.
