no update

i have a lua script that reads power usage and set the value in a virtual device.
the script gives no errors , but nothing apears in the log ,only that the script is running. the virtual device gets no value.
this line in the script should update the device: commandArray = {['UpdateDevice'] = CloseInBoiler.."|0|"}
what is wrong?
