Strange devices appear in RFXtrx433E

Hello,

I don't know whether I missed a post about this, but I see strange devices in my Domoticz installation for the RFXtrx433E, which I do not own nor have I actively added them (like the temperature sensor in the screenshot).

Does the RFXtrx433E allow automatic adding devices to itself? Is my system vulnerable?

Thanks for any comments / info. I'm pretty new to that adapter and might have missed to secure it.

Thank you Hans! Okay - at first sight good, but at second it still freaks me out.

So the controller adds them without knowing what it is? Still feels scary in terms of security. What if a device sends poisonous commands to the controller? Is it possible to secure the controller against this?

This is the downside of using the 433 mhz devices. It's all open and your gateway knows lots of protocols. You can disable "add new devices" in the domoticz settings. That Will Keep your devices list Clean.

Or, you could have some fun. I picked up what I later found out was my neighbors doorbell and have now technically automated the "knock down Ginger" game I used to play as a child .
