How to verify z-wave encryption is being used?

Post by ryanfx »

How can I verify, on a device by device basis, that encryption is being used on my z-wave devices? I am using a "Aeotec ZW090 Z-Stick Gen5" and have already set the "Security Network Key" in the hardware setup for the stick.

i think when you go the openzwave panel (setup- zwave setup-node management-control panel) you can select each module

at the bottom info appears for that device
when you select information you should see secured=off or secured=on

I set the security network key in Domoticz, and pushed it to the Aeotec V5, but on checking the OZW Control panel the security key is 0 and security network enabled is false. Which one is right?

Also the options.xml file had the key commented out - so I’ve uncommitted it and put in the key there as well.

Trying to add the key in the control panel and switching the network enabled to on in the security panel seems to have no effect as well
