Domoticz

I noticed on my Domoticz (3.5838) it is using OpenZwave 1.4 and that on the OpenZwave project page that 1.5 has been released some time ago. Can OpenZwave be updated seperately by downloading the OpenZwave installation binaries and installing them? Or will I break my Domoticz installation?

The OpenZWave is compiled in to the application, you can't update it separately.

Is there some reason you want 1.5?

Well I have a problem with my TKB TZ68 (see: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=12676 )and there is an update for that device in 1.5 and a lot more devices are updated according the release notes:

I also would like the 1.5 version.
I have the same problems with the TKB TZ68, after an update for domoticz/a restart I have to switch all my TKB switches to be recognized again.

Where do you find 1.5
I only find 1.4.2228 lastest from today and 1.4.164 stable.
So if you see something I dont, please send a link.

I have found it on github under releases: https://github.com/OpenZWave/open-zwave/releases

Think that gizmocuz have a reason for that....

I received an answer. The xml files are updated with newer openzwave versions, and these files are then included in Domoticz. I checked with my domoticz beta version and the xml files are the same as the most recent github repository

Hi! Just to be sure.. you mean xml files are uploaded to domoticz with beta releases even if the openzwave version is still 1.4? If you run a new domoticz installation from source, would it be then possible to update to the latest OZW versión? Thanks

If you want to use an update openzwave with a precompiled Domoticz, that is not going to work. In order to do that you also need to recompile Domoticz with the new openzwave libraries. Openzwave is compiled in.

This is what i did:
- download openzwave 1.5 tar (or download last Openzwave from git)
- untar it in the folrder open-zwave-read-only
- make it
- during the execution of make command i can see that it's making the 1.4 version

- download from git domoticz
- make it

went to the web gui and what I can see is Domoticz 3.6591 and openzwave 1.4-2384
Do I have to put some parameter during the make of the Openzwave ?

I followed all the part "Installing from Source"

Update:

After the cloning of the git repository you have to enter in the folder and change the git branch with the comand: git checkout Dev
At this point, if you make openzwave you'll have the 1.5 version.
Now the problem is that I have an error compiling the file Driver.o

I don't think you can just update the openzwave installed. I think you have to clean it off and recompile or if you're not satisfy try
some other resources online .

What does it mean that Openzwave is "compiled in"?
Has the Openzwave source code been checked out at some point in time and included in the Domoticz source?
And the configuration files are regularly updated from Openzwave and updated in Domoticz source also?
