Zooz ZSE40 4-in-1 Sensor

Just figured I'd create a topic for this as I have it coming in the mail. I don't see any where that someone has tried to use this with Domoticz so I figured I'd post my success rate in how it goes when it comes in.

The manufacturer responded with this: "Unfortunately, we haven't had a chance to test the sensor with the Domoticz system yet. Since this is not a simple on/off device, it may require additional coding and configuration so it will probably not work out of the box. But you can always give it a try and let us know if you encounter issues - we'll do our best to help."

Has anyone used this with Domoticz yet?

One thing to keep in mind: that's a US frequency sensor, which is different from the one we use Europe (I assume you're fom EU as well).

So it came in and I wanted to share my results. I have it paired with a Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5 using the latest version of Domoticz (3.5382)

After clicking the button twice like the instructions said, it blinked and paired right away. It showed up as a Vision ZP3111 Multisensor 4in1.

So, this is supposed to be 4 sensors on it: motion, light, temperature, humidity.

This is what's showing up under devices. Why are there so many and what are these exactly? I'm using the top 3 but have no idea what the rest might be or how to use them.

Code: Select all

234	Aeotec Z-stick	0000803 255	Light Sensor	Lux	Lux	7 Lux
238	Aeotec Z-stick	0801 0	TempHum Sensor	Temp + Humidity	WTGR800	81.7 F, 63 %
228	Aeotec Z-stick	00000835	1	Burglar	Light/Switch	Switch	Off

225	Aeotec Z-stick	00000833	1	Alarm Type	Light/Switch	Switch	On
226	Aeotec Z-stick	00000832	1	Alarm Level	Light/Switch	Switch	Off
232	Aeotec Z-stick	0000008 7	Alarm Type: 0x07	Lighting 2	AC	Off
229	Aeotec Z-stick	00000837	1	System	Light/Switch	Switch	Off
230	Aeotec Z-stick	00000838	1	Emergency	Light/Switch	Switch	Off
231	Aeotec Z-stick	00000839	1	Clock	Light/Switch	Switch	Off
227	Aeotec Z-stick	00000800	1	Sensor	Light/Switch	Switch	Off
The temp/humidity is showing up no problem. The light I'm not sure about. It was reading 7 for a while with no change. Now it's 378 but that's cause I have it triggered as a motion sensor to turn on a light, fooling around with it to see if it works well as a motion sensor. The motion sensor I believe is the one labeled Burglar and it appears to work though I'm not sure how well yet. No idea what the rest are..

That's fine, Burglar should be the motion sensor (other sensor have this naming). The light sensor seems fine as well, on a sunny day mine shows 960 lux on my room and slowly decreases as the day (and the sun) passes.

AS for the other sensors: there should one or two tamper switches and there are ones for sensing motion as well. The documentation should clear up these ones.

Have a look on this topic: http://domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=10158.

Since it's compatible and I've had no issues at all, I've added it to the wiki compatibility page.

So maybe I shouldn't have been so eager to add it to the compatibility page.

Last night Domoticz crashed for some reason. Upon getting Domoticz up again, I noticed all the functions of the Sensor were red in Domoticz and the last polling time was a while ago. I ended up taking the batteries out of the sensor and put them back in. Domoticz showed the sensor reported activity but the icons in Domoticz were still red for it.

So this morning, I woke up, Domoticz crashed again over night sometime. I got Domoticz back up again and at first the sensors icons were red and had the last seen time was from 2AM last night. It started polling shortly after again and the icons went back to normal and weren't red.

Now, from looking more closely at everything I'm getting the feeling the sensor isn't 100% working. The last seen times aren't lining up for when the sensor was triggered I believe.

Under Switches, The Burglar portion of the sensor shows Last seen: 2016-08-02 10:09:43
But yet, the light sensor and temp/humidity sensor shows last seen: 2016-08-02 09:50:05

Going more into it and looking at the logs, I'm not even sure the sensor is polling accurately or behaving correctly.

In the console window it showed:

Code: Select all

2016-08-02 09:58:36.727 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Tamper
2016-08-02 10:00:01.208 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Secure
2016-08-02 10:03:55.877 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Tamper
2016-08-02 10:05:15.902 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Secure
2016-08-02 10:08:10.930 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Tamper
2016-08-02 10:09:42.994 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Secure
In my logs it shows a little more detail for what it's doing:

Code: Select all

2016-08-02 10:08:10.930 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Tamper
2016-08-02 10:08:10.930 (Aeotec Z-stick) Light/Switch (Alarm Type)
2016-08-02 10:08:10.947 (Aeotec Z-stick) Lighting 2 (Alarm Type: 0x07)
2016-08-02 10:08:10.964 (Aeotec Z-stick) Light/Switch (Alarm Level)
2016-08-02 10:08:10.982 (Aeotec Z-stick) Light/Switch (Burglar)
2016-08-02 10:09:42.994 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Secure
2016-08-02 10:09:42.994 (Aeotec Z-stick) Light/Switch (Alarm Type)
2016-08-02 10:09:43.049 (Aeotec Z-stick) Lighting 2 (Alarm Type: 0x07)
2016-08-02 10:09:43.123 (Aeotec Z-stick) Light/Switch (Alarm Level)
2016-08-02 10:09:43.202 (Aeotec Z-stick) Light/Switch (Burglar)
The tamper would be done if the sensors case is opened but yet it's not and still alarming out.

One other thing to note is that this just started showing up in my log as well:
2016-08-02 10:31:12.591 OpenZWave: Received timeout notification from HomeID: 3238387180, NodeID: 8 (0x08)

Under my hardware and under the Z-stick, NodeID 8 is this sensor I'm having trouble with...

Any news on this sensor? I have bought it labelled as Cyrus 4-in-1 Multisensor but it shows up as well as ZP3111. I get temp and humidity information but as you it at some point in time turns red not delivering data. Also I have no idea how to set up motion detection, as it seems not to be triggered.

Did you try it under FHEM or something else?

I have same problem with ZP3111. Clould it be something wrong in the config?

For the most part, I stopped trying to get this sensor to work as a good motion sensor to turn on lights when I enter and off when I leave a room. It doesn't seem to be responsive enough and or maybe my blockly script isn't logical enough to get it working nicely. In retrospect, if I configured blockly to turn on the light when the Burglar sensor was triggered, it would be a little random. At first I thought I had it going alright but as time went on, I would enter a room and sometimes it would take 5seconds to trigger the light switch to turn on. Other times, it won't trigger at all cause the sensor wouldn't recognize motion I realized my light was left on a whole day as well as the sensor got stuck and the Burglar alarm was set to On the whole day. I'm pretty unsure about why they go into sleep mode for so long and or why they don't seem to wake up when I actually walk in the room.

The other issue is that for some reason the Tamper alarm seems to be triggered as well during motion events. Here's an example from today when motion was triggered:

Code: Select all

2016-11-17 11:25:28.511 OpenZWave: Alarm Level: Tamper
2016-11-17 11:25:28.511 (Z-Stick) Light/Switch (Sensor 1 Alarm Type)
2016-11-17 11:25:28.598 (Z-Stick) Lighting 2 (Sensor 1 Alarm Type: 0x07)
2016-11-17 11:25:28.619 (Z-Stick) Light/Switch (Sensor 1 Alarm Level)
2016-11-17 11:25:28.642 (Z-Stick) Light/Switch (Bedroom Motion)
Even with the motion sensor issue, I have actually purchased 2 more of these as they seem to work great to getting an idea of temp/humidity/light readings in each room(when they do work). To note though, In the 2 other ones I purchased, they added completely different things than the first one from looking at the devices table. The first one installed added 10 different things as noted above in this thread. From installing the last 2, one of them added 11 different things(one of the devices named as "HomeHealth"). From looking at the log though it's never been triggered since it's been installed. I'm not really sure why all 3 of them have added different devices really. I thought that was a little odd and wanted to note it.

I read this part from a Smartthings forum https://community.smartthings.com/t/rel ... nsor/55402 though I haven't seen this noted in the manual or from the manufacturer anywhere:

Low Battery: If your battery below 35% consider replacing it. The device will stop sending updates if the battery falls below this level. So you won't know if you battery has run out, the motion/no motion sensors / temperature sensor may get stuck as well and you may receive no updates.
