Notifications on meters

Post by mvzut »

Hi all,

This may have been discussed before, but I couldn't find it so I thought let's ask in this group..

I set notifications to some of my meters, to notify me when the daily usage is above a certain threshold. I have done this on my P1 electricity and gas meter, but also on a dummy counter I use to keep track of my son's Playstation use .

However, those notifications always come at 0:00h. So not directly after the threshold has been exceeded, which you would normally want, right? It doesn't seem to make a difference if I select the "ignore interval" checkbox.

I can't possibly be the only one being annoyed by this? Is there a known solution? I know of one solution: creating a script to keep track of usage and send the notifications. But that is quite some work, since the meters themselves don't log daily use, you would then have to store the values at midnight somewhere and do the calculations every time the script runs. I don't see that as a very elegant solution, especially not since the Domoticz GUI has such nice notification functions built-in!

What are your experiences with this?
