RFLink stops - serial port closed

Got an RFLink this weekend and installed it with the latest firmware. It seemed to work as I could receive my outside temp device.

However, after some time (between 20 mins and 2 hrs) the rflink device disappears...in domoticz I get this:

the usb port is gone when I check on the device:(... need to shut down, wait some time and restart my rpi 3

Any Idea what is the issue here ...and how to try to fix?

running latest beta of domoticz...also tried stable. also tried adding 10 uF capacitor as per nemcon blog. RFLink is connected per usb to my raspberry. also have an zwave stick+p1 port

I'm running out of options...hope anyone can help?

I connected the RFLink connected to a windows pc, and it has been stable for >20 hrs.

What could be the reason it doesnt work stable with the Pi3?

I've received a 2A power supply with my Pi, could that be the issue, or is an external usb hub a better idea? if so, which one to take?

Hi, yes I did. when the disconnection occurs, both the usual usb port as well as the persistent is gone ...

for the record: I've got it stable now by....using another usb cable!.. sigh...the short usb cable provided with the rflink was poor quality/something wrong...
happy it's working now though
