Domoticz Evohome/Honeywell HGI80 sensor simulation

Post by RFMuser »

Hi All,

For a while now I'm using Domoticz with Evohome, Rfxcom, Milight all running on a Synology NAS. Still impressed of the flexibility and functionality.

In the near future however, we will start rebuilding the house and I'm now investigating how to integrate Domoticz. I will start another topic for further related questions but I like to find out if it''s possible to simulate a room sensor on the Honeywell HGI80.

At the moment I'm using the HR80 wireless thermostat. In the future I will use the floor heating module with solenoids which require a separate room sensor. Because I will probably want to use different room sensors connected to Domoticz I like to know if I'm able to use Domoticz to send the room temperature to the Evohome controller who is regulating the solenoid valves of the floor heating and boiler system.

Hi,

You're in luck! The functionality to link a non-Evohome temperature sensor via the Honeywell HGI80 was recently added to the Domoticz beta (about a week ago).

Here's a link to my forum post describing the functionality. I'm planning to improve the set-up as it's a little 'clunky' at the moment, renaming device to enable linking etc, but it all works OK.

Hey thats great! I just saw your post as I forgot to switch on post notification. I will look into this but it sounds promising. I have the Syno package so I don't know if the versions are the most recent available although an update is released almost everyday.
