Zwave network toooooo complicated ?

doesn't this look tooooooo complicated ?

have I done something wrong ?
do I need to adjust some settings ?
How can I simplify my network ?

I'm worried about it ...

What's the problem? What's too complicated?
Looks pretty normal, wait until you have some more devices, then you see nothing anymore.

That is what one calls a MESH network :)

Pascal, explain your question?!

I thought there were too many connections going on, making the network unstable maybe ?

... that's why I was worried, but apparently this is normal and I shouldn't worry about it ?

As said, zwave creates a mesh network with alternative routes to route the information back to the controller. This should make it more stable then with single routes. Maybe a nice read to understand the basics: http://www.vesternet.com/resources/tech ... e-networks

With 49 nodes it look's like this

Mespr0n :D :D

@Egregius: this network looks great. Maybe in due time I'll have something similar.

@pascalspits: your networks looks great too. Don't make the mistake to turn polling on, THAT will slow your network down....

In my configuration the controller doesn't have any connection to other modules, although al seems to work fine.
This has always been the case, what does this mean and did i confiigure something wrong?

Yeah... I think there's an issue somewhere. Because I have two controllers and 6 nodes. The two controllers are on separate raspberry pi-2's. The first controller (RaBerry) see this...

The second controller (Aeotec G5 USB) sees this...

Given that it's one network. Both graphs SHOULD look the same. But they don't... They also don't quite match the node status. For example the RaZBerry (Node001) graph shows that the network is almost in two parts. With Node005 acting as the relay between one side and the other. Yet the RaZBerry more often than not shows Node005 as DEAD. The second controller (Node004) on the other hand can see Node005 fine...

Very strange... I'm not sure I understand why the graphs and device comms lists should look so different on the same network.

This morning Domoticz asked me to update ... I agreed

This is what I discover this evening ...

suddenly, all by itself !

why ? how ?

You can use Zwave Control Panel to see the topology as a table, perhaps it's easier than this beatiful and coloured picture.

my question is : how can it automatically go from this

to this
zwave.JPG

only by updating Domoticz ?
NOTHING has changed to the controllers, dimmers, sensors ... to the network itself

how do these connections suddenly appear in the group list and where are all the connections in the graph view ?
behavior in the hous was crazy ... garage licht made heater turning on and all kinds of crazy connections !

I cleaned it up (by removing all "weird" nodes from the groups) and now it looks like this ... everything seems to work, but still the pie-graph doesn't show any connections ... very weird

I'm running Domoticz on RasPi2 with Fibaro RGBW dimmers and Fibaro multi-sensors and an AEOTEC stick

The group associations explain the weird behavior.
But why the links are all gone? I really can't say, I assume you waited for the screenshot until all nodes are queried aka blue settings button?

Yep, all nodes are there ... look !

And restart or network heal doesn't change anything?

network heal froze/crashed the system, so I rebooted the Pi

after rebooting I check the network information and BOOM !

again it made a bunch of crazy connections all by itself ...
(by the way, this "trap en hall" is a RGBW dimmer from Fibaro)

what am I doing wrong ??

last few weeks again started to notice strange behaviour ... for example : bedroom blinds going up or down when switching on bathroom lights ... ?!

I did a soft reset controller and then these weird Zwave connections appeared again ...

this keeps puzzling me ... where do these crazy connections come from all by theirself ?!

What am I doing wrong here ?
