Hello,

I open this post for I am trying to run with an OverlayFS and have somme issues with it.

I modified the proposed script for modifying readonly to readwrite in the article :

following a discussion from here:

but now I face an issue where I can't reboot it anymore... has anyone runnint it correctly ? what do I need to change ?

One of the thread guy proposed the following instead of overlayfs:

Since I can't reboot in overlayfs, I may have a try here...

Sorry to hear that. Can you do as suggested in the first paragraph : mount the SD card and revert the changes ( edit /etc/fstab back to original, move the renamed directories back to where they came from) If not, where in the boot process do you end up in problems ?

hello,

I guess the main issue are ro directories and new syslogd at least.

The systemd also need to write to its /etc directory for a status I guess.

A guy that participated back a lot in 2014 on the thread is now doing another way, sign that the overlayfs would need more refinement (that I have time to right now ;-)

So reverting has been done, I had to copy back _org to the original place.
