Hi,
I have got two Milight LED controllers (BW and RGBW).
I have created 10 IDs (4 channel per controller plus a master one) for two controllers. However, I can only switch on one of them at one given time. If I want to change controllers, I have to change it Setup - Hardware - Limitless - Set mode - Type: RBGW or White. I am not able to use both of them at the same time. This is not logical at all. If all IDs present in the system, it would be more appropriate that the type is determined according to the ID (RGBW or RGB or BW) and not in the setup.
Many thanks
Alex

Re: Limitless\Milight Controller BW and RGBW
I can understand your suggestion, but it makes sense if you put all RGBW on one controller and W on another, and you should be fine, there isn't much difference between RGBW and RGB so I'd expect you can get away with just using RGBW.
If you are wanting to switch them all on/off at once then use a scene to do this.
Or download the code and make it work the way you want it

Re: Limitless\Milight Controller BW and RGBW
Have you tried to add the same controller twice with the same ip number and set one on white and one on rgbw? This workaround works fine for me.

I am not sure I am following you. The same IP? Do you mean ID?tomson wrote:Have you tried to add the same controller twice with the same ip number
Could you please explain once more?

I cannot get away with using just one I am afraid. The BW controller is not recognising RGBW remote.sijones wrote:I can understand your suggestion, but it makes sense if you put all RGBW on one controller and W on another, and you should be fine, there isn't much difference between RGBW and RGB so I'd expect you can get away with just using RGBW.
You always learn something new - thanks for a tip. Will try thatIf you are wanting to switch them all on/off at once then use a scene to do this.

Re: Limitless\Milight Controller BW and RGBW
What I tried to explain is that one controller can both control 4 groups of RGB(W) and 4 groups of white/dual white groups. This is a bit of an undocumented feature.alexsh1 wrote:I am not sure I am following you. The same IP? In Domoticz I added my Miilight controller twice and used the same IP address. One I set to RGB(W) and one to White. I can now control both my RGB(W) led strips and my white led strips.
Please note if you download the app on your phone that you will need to use a different virtual remote to control either the RGB(W) groups and the white groups.
Does this explanation help?

Ok, now I am with you. Interesting way to resolve the issue - let me try to set it uptomson wrote: What I tried to explain is that one controller can both control 4 groups of RGB(W) and 4 groups of white/dual white groups. This is a bit of an undocumented feature.

That mean we can drive 8 groups (4rgbw + 4 white)
Domoticz stable 3.5877 for real & Domoticz beta for test

Re: Limitless\Milight Controller BW and RGBW
This drives me nuts - I am not sure where the problem is. My set-up is as follows in the Devices:
- 4 channels RGBW - 1 LED strip connected and setup to the 1st channel (total 5 devices including 'all lights switch')
- 4 channels White - 1 LED strip connected and setup to the 1st channel (total 5 devices including all lights switch)
Everything works fine from the virtual remote on my iPhone.
But in Domoticz now when press RGBW 1st channel or White 1st channel, only the RGBW LED strip comes on. When I go to Setuo - Hardware- Limitless and change from RGBW to White, both channels turn on White 1st channel only.
Am I doing wrong anything? I just cannot understand where the problem is and why I need to change settings in the Setup.
