Read the QR code and mailed me the link. a "I" must be a "l".

My ip and key are correct.
My pi zero (slave) have the Ikea running
My pi4 (master) has the connection error.
Remote device does not work with the IKEA plugin

Argh!
All my Ikea devices disappeared and then reappeared after a reboot. But as new devices, with new idx numbers. I have to edit a lot of scripts

On one side, it's good that it hasn't happened again, on the other, such intermittent errors are notoriously difficult to hunt down and fix... Let me know if it happens again, and any information you can provide about the circumstances when it happens, would be extremely helpfull!

I really keep struggling with this plugin. It works for a while and then these errors appear. And IKEA becomes unresponsive. Also when I disable other hardware/python scripts. Running on a rPi with buster, everything updated.

I think I've said this before, but a PI isn't quite powerfull enough for the plugin in it's current form, the more devices you have and the more other plugins you're running, the more likely it its for this error to occur. I've tried to optimize it as much as possible, but it's still too heavy for a PI. I'm working on a completely new version of the plugin, which should be much less demanding and support propper observations...

True, you said it before. I’m being stubborn. I’m running on a rPi 3 Model B Rev 1.2, so it is not that fast. Would upgrading to a rPi 4 be an option for me?

I migrated my Domoticz to a new rPi4. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem. It seems to happen less frequent though. I am trying to figure out how to restart domoticz when the errors appear until your new version comes out

Despite the known error things have been rather stable the last weeks. I have the plugin restarting if there isn’t any activity for a while, and Monit restarts Domoticz or the rPi4 itself if more severe problems occur. The last two or three days I notice more frequent crashes. Monit takes care of the restart, so I am just sharing here:

I would guess it has something to do with network latency and timeouts...
Due to life commitments, the new, rewritten version has taken longer than anticipated...
Progress is slow, but steady and it`s getting near a pre-release, testing stage. If you or someone else would be willing to help with testing, it would be much appreciated.
Unfortunately, it`s a "breaking change", so tradfri devices have to be added to domoticz from scratch.
The new version is based on MQTT, and demands quite a lot less of Domoticz than the current version, so hopefully "Thread has ended unexpectedly" will be a thing of the past. All the "heavy lifting" is done by a tradfrimqtt service, and if the service goes "belly up" for some reason or another, at least it will not bring down Domoticz as a whole. The service will be available either as a docker image or local install.

I'll see if I can keep an eye on the latency. I got myself an zigbee usb stick, but it is still in its box and I haven't been able to find time to install it. One day...
Meanwhile I'd be happy to test stuff out. I don't mind re-adding my devices a couple of times if I can help. No hurry

- From the Domoticz page, add the hardware as 'IKEA Tradfri Plugin - version 0.10.7' type with this parameters:

-> from devices tab, devices are not created.
From the logs, all wotks fine (i assume):

Is in "Domoticz settings" → "Hardware/Devices:
Accept new Hardware Devices" enabled?
If not, enable it and restart the plugin or domoticz.

As far as I can tell, the plugin looks to be installet correctly. Enable debug for the plugin, it might give some clue to why the devices aren't added...
