Re: Python Plugin : Broadlink RM2 V4

Post by fvdp80 »

I said before that the plugin was running like a charm, but it's not.
The "connection" between Domoticz and the Broadlink get's lost a lot. The only way to restore the connection is to restart Domoticz.
And that's not even always the solution. Then it's still not always possible to send an IR command.

What to try now for a clean install? Any ideas?

Domoticz log:

Code: Select all

@fvdp80
Are you sure that your device is able to give you the Temp ? ( function checkTemp)

Hi.
I dont get it.
You reported problem with "'onHeartbeat' failed 'TypeError':'unorderable types: NoneType() ....(...)... function checkTemp" (I have the same)
zak45 asked You if You have temp sensor
Then You said "Switched the hardware device to RM2/Mini with temp device"

What was Your previous setting for "Device Type": "Remote Control RM2/RM mini3" . ?? (mine was like this and changed to "Remote Control RM2/RM mini3 with Temperature device")

I will also observe and confirm in 1 week.

RPI3 + Raspbian Stretch + Domoticz stable V4.9700 + RM PRO+

It looks like I am close to use the Broadlink inside Domoticz,
I am stuck now with the import function, no button is active:
  • webstart
  • import
  • generate
Thanks
Can you put in debug mode and post the result ?

In my domoticz it's not functioning.
I select "Broadlink RM2 with Kodi Remote" and then "Device Type: discovery", and Domoticz became unusable, it's impossible to switch tab, it's impossible to do anything, the only solution has been reinstallation of Domoticz.
Why?

Thanks; there are so many post....can be this a solution?

sudo pip3 uninstall pycryptodome (but I not installed pycryptocrome),

I used this:
sudo pip3 install pyaes

Thanks again

For me uninstalling pycryptodome didn't work. Maybe it will for you, just try it.
Otherwise try my solution mentioned a few pages back.

The plugin and Broadlink are running lika a charm again, with no connection-errors anymore.
Problem was solved by reconfiguring my router/AP/network.

Hi all,

-Sorry for the wall of text. Maybe it will help someone.- :D

Wrestling with getting this working for a few evenings now. Am noob, so having some issues.

The last few pages I have been reading about some people not getting it to work, and domoticz crashing when they create the hardware in domoticz. Just wanted to say that (like was being said) you need to deinstall pycryptodome. I did not even install it myself, but apparently it was still on my machine for some reason.

What I did so far:
-Make a fresh install of stretch-lite
-Install domoticz and load my databases
-Installed monit
-installed broadlink
-installed pyaes
-copied libs for Crypto and broadlink to correct dirs as described in wiki
-downloaded the plugin files, put them in the right folder and made them executable (i had to create the "BroadlinkRM2" folder myself, by the way. Is that normal?)

After doing this and adding the hardware in domoticz nothing happened or it even got stuck. The log said broadlink started and it was entering workloop, but nothing else.

-After digging in this topic, I saw that it was neccesary to uninstall pycryptodome (even though I did not install it myself, but OK)

After deinstalling at least now I am at the point where the " Broadlink RM3 - import/remote/temp/command" devices are appearing. So I guess I am going in the right direction. :)

Update- yep. Plugin seems to work! I was able to learn and save an IR signal. Unfortunately my Broadlink RM pro+ does not appear to be able to learn any RF codes with any of the apps (IHC, IHC for EU, E-control). Don't know yet how this will work in Domoticz. Is any of you having this issue as well, or am I just having a faulty device? :(

Question: Does anyone maybe have a Philips tv with RF remote working? Maybe in the e-control app, or maybe in Domoticz? And could you please send me the ini file for that so that I can upload it? I do have it working in the IHC app, but that does not allow me to export the ini.

Update 2 even though my Broadlink RM pro plus does not seem to be able to learn RF codes (probably a defect) I have found a workaround/hack. Just in case someone is encountering the same issue.

-Install the IHC app (not the "IHC for EU" one)
-This app has a library for all sorts of devices. Add your (RF) device and test it.
-To learn the codes in Domoticz, click "learn" in domoticz and then quickly tap the coresponding button in the IHC app.
-For some reason it detects this as "learning" this RF code.
-You can now save the button, and it should be working.

Would still appreciate if someone could give me the .ini for their Philips RF TV, though.

BIG thank you to zak45 for building this!
