Hi, I tried the 2.2186... But I've seen the beta is not for windows releases....only for raspberry.I'm not in a hurry, I will be patient until the valve is in the windows release.

For the noise, I have 3 kind of valves at home :
Zwave Danfoss Living connect (old firmware)
Zwave Eurotronic Stella Z
and now, the smartwares.

The Danfoss is absolutely noiseless, has a very very good temperature stability, respects the target very precisely and has a screen showing the target and buttons to put the target by hand. The cons are : very difficult to press buttons (You have to press very strongly and it's not precise), a very poor battery life (not more than 2 monthes in winter) when using with my configuration (zwave veralite with a very clean zwave network). When the battery is dead, the valve opens full, making temperature very high in the room (very bad when you're in vacation).

The StellaZ is a little bit noisy, too much to put in a bedroom for me. There is no screen, and no way to put the target by hand. Battery autonomy is better than danfoss, but does not say when the end is comming. You know when the battery is dead when you take your shower with 16°C in the bathroom... :-( The inside thermometer says 2 or 3 degres more thant the real temperature, so you have to give a target pertaining to that offset.

The Smartware is very noisy, and has a bip when it is remotely commanded. I don't have enough experience until now, but I like it very much thanks to the big screen, and the ability to be targeted by hand. I will keep you informed as soon as possible.

And very sorry if my english is not so good... I hope it is clear enough for everyone to understand. :-)

Update :
Domoticz 2.2186 / RFXTRX 433E firmware v234

I am now able to command Night or Day mode. Con : 5 bips each time
I am now able to put target at any time. Con : 4 bips each time (and target put from the first bip).

Best way to connect for me was to make the valve listen to an arbirtary code put in domoticz (but you loose the remote because the code is not the same).

I can't test anymore with the RFXTRX433 (not E), I sold it this morning.

New update : chart of temperature of the room where the smartwares valve in installed.

Regulation is neither precise nor enough stable.

In order to view the chart by yourself and have the values, please, download excel file on https://mega.co.nz/#!P4Z2HZCC!EsU-ukzIv ... rThOrojrHc . I tried to share the logs directly in Domoticz, without success... So I uploaded the logs for you.

Target is 17 °C.
Values are between 16,4 and 18°C. It means that the confort that you have with stability is not possible with this valve (at least in my home).

I will use the valve where the stability is not very necessary, like in the bathroom (where I just want to have more than 20°C the morning for the time of the shower).

This is the end of my review. Ask if you want more.
Sylvain.

So the smartvalves are remotly changable and not only day and night mode?

Yes, remotely changeable.
You can give the target you want AND you can toggle night / day with domoticz / rfxtrx433e.

I can only add the thermostat valve by using my remote control at domoticz.
I read here that you can give any temp, also the night and day setting.
How do i fixed that?

It's already fixed ;-)

How do you add your valve to Domoticz? I can figure out how to add a manual switch, but couldn't find any where what ID to use or find any manual on how to add the darn things.

I've got three, but no way to couple them to Domoticz. :(

Edit: I do have the RFXtrx433E so it should be possible.

Found it.

Push Menu till it goes to "Pro"
Use wheel toe select "Rfs"
Use Domoticz to manually add a switch, choose an Id and choose test within 30 seconds.

Mine arrived today and I can't get Domoticz to see it :(
I paired it with the remote 1st and then unpaired it when I found that maybe it couldn't pair with 2 devices.
The instructions are very minimal... is there a way to do a "factory reset"?
Is it my RFXTRX firmware? I use ver.77

This radiator valve is only supported in the E version, starting at firmware version 233.

It was not tested with the RFXTRX433, so, how do you know it is not working with the 'non-E' version?

Firmware upgraded and all working like a dream! Thank you Bert from RFXCOM!

The device is a little noisy  but not too bad.

I prefer it to the StellaZ which are a bit temperamental. Maybe it's me, but I don't like paying Z-Wave prices for something that sits there sulking and ignoring me like a spotty teenager

Erm.... because Bert from RFXCOM says so ;)

If the battery life is good I'll be ordering more of these :D

It works nicely. Dunno about the battery life yet, but I did order 2 more for a total of 5 now.

I will order a smartware but have some questions first:

Only beeping when changing (so if i not change when sleeping no problem right?)
I sleep with my pillow against the radiator.

domoticz can change temp, but does it also the current temperature?

The unit only beeps when it acknowledges a signal from domoticz. i.e. from a set point temp change or when switching from day to night mode (on/off). Off/Night is actually a change to 17 deg.

The motor is actually fairly noisy, but after a few days I'm used to it ;)

Hi All,

I have just installed a Smartwares TRV, and got it included in Domoticz, no problems. :D

Does anyone know how to issue a set point change from Blockly? I have tried using a "Set = " block. Using the setpoint from utility and the usual value block, but this does not work. (Works ok when I edit in the Utility Tab)

Also does anyone have any full instructions for operating the unit? The supplied leaflet is really just an installation and pairing guide and does not explain setpoints, time settings etc.
I have emailed Home Wizard for help and will report here if they come up with something.

Thanks

Hi Stan

I'll be very keen to hear what you find out.

I'm trialling one at the moment and it seems to work very well. My plan has been to just use the on/off command for normal running. i.e. a pre determined set point of 21deg for example, for occupied rooms and then "off" which sets to 17deg for unoccupied.

I'm not sure I'll need any more than that... but then I'm not the "decision maker" like most married men  and I'm sure my wife will want to micro-manage the heating controls

I should add that I'm using mine in conjunction with a temp sensor on a Fibaro binary thingy fitted in my hard-wired alarm PIR so I'll have the option to "sense" occupancy and a double check on actual room temp.... so far so good :D

Good luck and let us know how you get on ;)

Hi,

No response from Homewizard other than an auto reply in Dutch that when translated asks me to check for an answer in an account that I don't have :(

Anyway, the valve is working well and I have found a way to send a setpoint from a virtual switch. No credit to me but elsewhere on the forum @bizziebis shows how to grab the json commands from the Web interface:-

http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5302

From this clever suggestion I was able to grab the command sent by the setpoint edit in the Utility tab:-

http://192.168.0.38:8080/json.htm?type= ... &used=true

So I stuck the IP address and port on the front, pasted into the "On" field in the switch definition ................ and it works :) How cool is that ?

Anyway, so I added a different setpoint into the off action, and now I have a "Boost" switch, which I could also use in blockly if I want.

Domoticz is awesome, this forum is awesome :)

Stan

Does anyone know if the new "Pop Up" setpoint http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic ... int#p35484 functionality can be used with this valve?
