Smartwares introduces 433 thermostat device for Homewizard.

Where there were only thermostatic valves for zwave. Now we have an 433Mhz equivalent.
I hope it will be supported by my RFXTRX433!

Ask Bert of RFXcom first, it al starts there. If The RFXcom does not support it, Domoticz won't either.

I follow a lot of forums and when there is a question related to rfxcom, Bert always reacts in a very short time...
So I think he reads almost everything about domotics. So I don't worry.... If he thinks it's interesting then it will be supported. ;)

And when he decides not to support this device....Then the device is useless (for me). You gonna buy it???

Ooooh. Everything crossed for this one :)
Running Domoticz on Pi3 with RFXtrx433e. LWRF power sockets and dimmer switches. Integrated my existing wirefree alarm PIRs and door contacts with domoticz. Geofencing with Pilot. Harmony Hub. Tado for Heating. Now playing with mysensors.

Smartwares introduces 433 thermostat valve

Post by Heisenberg »

Something to consider before purchasing this product: if you want to use it in the bedroom then be aware that it makes some noise because it constantly changes the temp wheel. So if you're a light sleeper then maybe it's not suitable for the bedroom.

Hello,
I received it today and ... yes, it is noisy.
Too much for me to put it in a bedroom, I will not say it is suitable for a bedroom.

Fairly tested until now, I could say remote is only to put the device in Day or Night mode (and progrmmation is on the device itself for the temperature of night or day).

Until now, I could receive the lighting 2 frame in Domoticz, but I couldn't set the remote from domoticz because there is not yet the "SmartWares" protocole as far as I know.

In rfxmgr, there is a Smartwares command, but I couldn't find the correct ID and unit code...
I will spend some time in the following days on that and will keep you informed.

Yours. Sylvain.

Thanks for this feedback.
So better not for bedroom.
My question: doesn't all electronic thermostate valves produce some noise?

You have to use the latest beta version, and manually add the smartwares radiator (manual light/switch), choose smartwares as protocol
You then receive two sensors, a switch to turn it to day/night, and a thermostat setpoint (utility tab), that you can use to time/set the setpoint

Is it 24/7 noisy ? or only when you change the temperature? (or when it wants to change the temperature)

Yes, it is noisy when it wants to change temperature. The motor itself is noisy.

But not only.

It reacts with a BIP to each command sent by the rfxcom OR the remote.

So if you keep the internal programming running, no problem, you will have only the motor. But if you want full remote (forcing night, forcing day or giving a target), you will have the bip.
I have the rfxtrx433 AND the rfxtrx433E, and both trapped the remote : Lighting 2 AC Off 6

I could toggle night / day with either the 433 or the 433E device with domoticz 2.2139.

in order to have the target temperature, i will try tomorrow the beta.
