Re: Remote UPS for Raspberry
Hate to revive an old topic but got the same question. Did anyone found answers on the mentioned 3 questions?PuckStar32 wrote: ↑Saturday 22 October 2016 11:26 Can someone please help me?
I want to know:
1. Is the nut service automatically started again after a reboot of the pi? Or must I configure that somewhere?
2. How can I check (manually) if the nut service is currently running?
3. How can I setup that the pi shutsdown BEFORE the NAS. Because what I want is:
Power outage -> NAS sends signal to pi3 that UPS running on battery -> pi should shutdown immediately -> After 5minutes the NAS should shut down the UPS and go in Safe mode itself.
With what the topic starter mentions this is not possible now because the pi will just wait until the NAS goes into Safe Mode before shutting down, but then the UPS battery will be emtpy.
Can anyone help me with this please?

Re: Remote UPS for Raspberry
Hi,
I was just looking into the setup again... lost my previous config somewhere along the road.
Have my NAS configured, this shuts down as configured and sends out a msg on status changes.
I have a RaspberryPi setup with NUT as slave, monitoring the server which is running on my Synology NAS.
When i issue i get the status of my RaspberryPi NUT service...
In the result i get, i've noticed that there seems to be an issue with Login...
nut-monitor[720]: Could not find PID file to see if previous upsmon instance is already running!
nut-monitor[720]: UPS: [email protected] (secondary) (power value 1)
nut-monitor[720]: Using power down flag file /etc/killpower
nut-monitor[728]: Init SSL without certificate database
nut-monitor[728]: UPS [[email protected]]: connect failed: Connection failure: Network is unreachable
nut-monitor[728]: Communications with UPS [email protected] lost
nut-monitor[754]: Network UPS Tools upsmon 2.8.0
nut-monitor[728]: Login on UPS [[email protected]] failed - got [ERR ACCESS-DENIED]
nut-monitor[728]: Communications with UPS [email protected] established
nut-monitor[1212]: Network UPS Tools upsmon 2.8.0
So i wonder, what's up with this line regarding Login?
My Pi does receive status and shuts down according the setup (after 5 minutes running on battery).
