that is exactly what I do, I clean it up each time ...

... but why does it keep coming back (without touching anything) every few weeks/months ?

I also experience this behavior. Last night I turned on the lights in the bathroom to discover that all the other lights were also turning on (bedrooms of my childeren, so they woke up :-( )

When going to the zwave setup I see that 4 nodes are just like that in group 1 attached to the "broadcast" 255.
I cannot remove them from that group neither.

Something weird and funny is going on.
This only occurs after a reboot by the way!

You bet !

question is : how do we fix this ? Because this behaviour leads to an unreliable home automation system ...

I cannot delete 255 from group 1.

Only option I had (with plug modules at least, not with modules behind wall switches) to remove from z-wave network en include again.
Then it was fine again.
All other options do not work or help out.

I tried it all.

Whoever created zwave did not design it with user friendly in mind. That's for sure. Hours I wasted on zwave :-| to get stuff to work. There is a backup for config but no restore :-. Stuff like that.

Replacing or deleting that will not work, the data of groups and network are stored on the usb controller.

Read the topic i post before...
When you do 1 thing wrong start again..

Please let me see the settings en the Zwcgf....
And yes start clean, with a clean USB, so reset ..[ read the manual ]
And reset all device, or exclude first, when you try to add them.
It is working great in Domoticz... [ most of time ]

Hi,

Today AGAIN one of my RGBW dimmers suddenly showed a lot of connections to other devices in the "groups a natwork" table ...
There was no Domoticz reboot, no software upgrade ... nothing changed to the system ... just like this ... out of the blue !
it's also remarkable that this ONLY happens to RGBW dimmers ... never to PIR sensors or other Zwave devices ...

... every few weeks these "ghost-connections" suddenly appear on one or more of my Zwave Fibaro RGBW dimmers

This is very annoying because it means that this Zwave network is NOT stable at all ...

only 3 days later ... Domoticz did an update and AGAIN, phantom-Zwave connections appear out of the blue ...

it's really starting to drive me crazy ...

I have also looked into this "zwcfg" thing on the RasPi, but I couldn't delete the file with Filezilla, it wouldn't allow it ... strange ...

I keep cleaning up these tzables to keep everything "stable" ... but I can't say it's very relyable this way ...
I'm starting to wonder if this Zwave thing actually makes sense ... ?

Step by step!!!

Login with Winscp...
Check if the zwcfg.xxx.xml is from the user and not from root.[ config map ]
Otherwise remove this file.
And reboot the pi or your hardware.
Check the zwcfg... not ROOT!!
And then wait a few hours...
> Check if the zwcfg.xxx.xml is from the user and not from root.[ config map ]
it said : Owner : Root

> Otherwise remove this file.
so I deleted it

> Check the zwcfg... not ROOT!!
after rebooting, again the file re-appears : zwcfg_0x0184d692.xml - owner : Root

it shouldn't be owner : root ?
But it is ! WTF !!

After a few minutes it had rebuilt the Zwave network and now it looks "clean" ... but for how long ???
