By the way... Some ZW112 devices also show parameters 7 (value 0), 8 (value 0) or 9 (value 256 or 257).
This varies over time, sometimes they are visible, sometimes not.
Can anyone explain what these parameters are for ?
Any suggestions why they come and go as they like ?

My prediction is that you will see the battery level for the next few days and then it will disappear.
The sensors do not send their battery level again without pushing the action button.
Months later, the sensors will start sending out the low battery level message every time you open or close the door.
But Domoticz does not show this message so you will not know about it.
Eventually (3-6 months) the battery will run out.

arjanm83 wrote:Update: I discovered this module DOES send out a battery message.
But only when the low battery level is reached and when this low battery message is enabled.
This is the message I saw in one of the Aeotec Z-Stick Gen 5 firmware upgrade tools:
08:33:31.826: Received: 008 - COMMAND_CLASS_BATTERY.BATTERY_REPORT, data: FF
What do I have to do to have this message picked up by Domoticz?
Added this question to the bug forum as well.
Maybe a request for the OpenZwave team - I'm not sure this is something Domoticz can capture without being first supported by OZW.

OZW is sending all of this sensor's messages correctly to Domoticz, according to me, that's not the issue.
This is what's happening:
- Users add the sensor to their network and Domoticz shows the battery level.
- From then onwards, the module always sleeps and only sends 'open' or 'closed' messages, when opening or closing the door.
- After some time, domoticz will not show the battery level anymore.
- Months later, when the battery almost runs out, the sensor will be sending a 'low battery' message.
- Domoticz is not showing these messages.
See for more details in the bug thread. I also PM'ed gizmocuz, but no reply yet.

My findings are as follows:
I have four Door / Window Sensor 6 ZW112. I changed to Wakeup interval to 3600 (1 hour). I even changed the "Interval time of low battery checking" to 3600 ( 1 hour).
After one day the battery-indicator of the Alarm Level and Alarm Type devices disappeared. The battery-indicators for the Switch devices were still there and showed 100%. After two days the battery-indicator of two switch-devices were also gone. Two others were still there (at 100%), but I am not hopeful they will remain
In the "OpenZWave Control Panel" the battery-level is shown at 100%, but greyed out.
If you press the (physical) action-button of the Sensor, the battery-indicator returns (at 100%) in Domoticz.
For now I have not found a way to convince the sensor to report its battery-status voluntary, other then by pressing the action-button.

The Aeon Labs Helpdesk has confirmed the devices do not communicate their battery level. They stated a firmware update is required. Unfortunately they won't provide a date for the update to be released. After asking about it for 6 months now, they stopped responding.
But the good news is that the devices do send out a low battery message when the battery reaches a threshold. The threshold can be set using the parameters.
The bad news however is that Domoticz is not showing this low battery message, but based on debugging information, the low battery message is received.
Concluding, we need an adjustment in Domoticz to show the low battery status for these devices.

Great job investigating the issue - I hope that either Domoticz / Aeotec will eventually do the necessary updates to get this working. Unfortunately my level of programming is not enough to be really helpful with this issue.

Some additional information:
I found that the status-information was frequently several hours old. So I changed the Wake-up interval to 600 (10 minutes).
To get it set, I had to press the action buttons. The Wake-up interval was accepted as 720. It has to be a multiple of 240.
Also the battery-level was updated. The battery-levels of the four sensors were 69%, 93%, 92% and 87% (after about 1 month).

One sensor had a bad connection because it was on a metal door (Aeotec warned so!).
I moved it to another door in another room. I was not able to have the network-links updated by using any form of network-healing. It kept the old path-links with (consequently) bad connection.
Finally, I removed the sensor from the network and added it again. Now it sees other nodes (more logically).
Don't know why network heal did not work.

If anybody is interested... I moved my Z-wave controller to another host. The Z-wave configuration was maintained. I just had to rename the devices again.
The ZW112 were still in the configuration. However, I did not manage to get them operational again. Activation-button, network heal, nothing worked. Remove from network functioned for three devices, but not for number four. I had to go to factory-restore and "forcefully" delete the device from the configuration. After re-including I could configure them again. Now they work.
Battery-levels: 82% (was 69% a week ago, not re-charged), 93% (was 93%), 89% (was 92%), 85% (was 87%).

About two months later...
Two of my four Window/Door Sensor 6 have sort-of died without any notification. They don't send any open/close commands anymore, however, they are still inthe device-list. Devices show no battery-level (empty).
After recharging, they didn't come alive. Network heal didn't make any difference. Health-test --> green, that's OK, but still no open/close changes in Domoticz. Finally, I excluded them and included them again.
Now, it looks like they are working again
Hmm, I am not very happy with them anymore.

Mine have runout of battery twice since I installed them. I just recharged and they were put back in service again with no problems.
It would be really great to have some way to check their battery level in domoticz, though.
