@jumbotroll
I upgraded from 2020.1.11835-8 to 2020.2.12213-8 (cedarview version, DS412+) and domoticz hangs / stops after the start. I had to go back to 2020.1
I have also seen that this happens occasionally in recent versions. I have not located the problem, but if you press RUN a couple of times in the package center on domoticz, it tends to start. It also usually starts immediately after a reboot of the NAS.
If you use Python plugin, it can be a plugin problem?
Remember to also install official Python3 package from synology first if you install domoticz with python or domoticz will not run.
Hi,
For me Domoticz beta ver. 2020.2.12213-8 (on Synology DS215j) does not work at all. The installation went smoothly, but now even trying to restart Domoticz several times does not work. So all my sensors and actors got stupid. I am waiting for a new beta update hoping that Domoticz will start working again.
Best regards
1. Did you install the Python 3 package from synology first ? . domoticz with python plugin don't start if you not install this package first.
2. Did you test domoticz package without python plugin? This should start on you NAS without Python package.

1. Yes I installed Python 3 package from Synology before I started using Domoticz at all (more than year ago I think). Should I reinstall this package before any Domoticz upgrade?
2. Thanks for the solution, I didn't thik about that (shame on me...) and I can get Domoticz after install beta version 6.2_2020.2.12233-8 without Python. But... It would be nice to have running version with Python ;)

my situation is similar, 2020.2 crashes on python plugin manager (segmentation fault). Deleting the plugins from plugin folder makes Domoticz starts properly. I found the plugin developers had to rewrite the plugin for 2020.2 and made it with Python v3.7.3.
https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... 00#p246401
"Yesterday we installed Domoticz v2020.2 and saw lots of issues due to changes in Domoticz, Python and pymodbus plugin versions, after a whole day programming, troubleshooting and adding new and better features we have updated the plugin, changelog:"
Anyway new plugin is still not compatible with our 2020.2 and crashes it same way probably due to python3.5 used in our Domoticz.

Test latest build.
I have updated to Python 3.7.7.
BTW. This packages are with full Python package and is much larger.
Not tested plugins because I don't use python plugins.
Please test..

Hi Jumbotroll, thanks for your great support and help so far!

I have tried this version last week (or did you include the python package today?) but unfortunately it didn't work. Seems like there is still a reference to the synology version of Python in the python plugins...

I'm updating the Domoticz v2020.2.12337-8 today.
Bromolow is not yet updated, check back in later tonight.

Wouw that is great! Thanks so much! Will try it tomorrow!

Works like a charm! Only downside is that buienradar plugin isn't working with this python version, but I rather have Domoticz working in the latest version than have other problems and buienradar working.

Great work Jumbotroll
I got the domoticz working/not crashing after I found and install python 3.7.7 for synology here:
https://synocommunity.com/package/python3#
(select your architecture, download and manually install in DSM package center)

Now I have to work now on modbus plugins (dependecies etc, cause something is not working as expected)
PS. As I remember some people had issue with OZW after first startup of 2020.2 (crashing the Domoticz), if it happens just delete the OZW cache and restart Domoticz.

@Jumbotroll
So I found that a python3.7 is located in domoticz lib folder (unlike 2020.1 where the system python was used).
My plugins didnt want to work as domoticz couldnt find dependencies installed in my DSM python (also 3.7.7).
The workaround was to rename domoticz python3.7 folder to python3.7_bak (just in case instead of deleting it) and just copy my python3.7 folder with all site packages from the /volume1/@appstore. Modbus can read and write registers.
Is there a way to use system modbus like before (was Domoticz somehow pointing to system python?)

I don't use python on my system, so I'm sorry that I can't give much support on this.
With latest domoticz with python3.77 I don't think you have to install The Python package at all because it's with the domoticz package.

...but in this case I can't use any external libraries like Viessmann heat pump ViCare api that must be installed in DSM (pip3 install PyViCare) or PyModbus (pip3 install pymodbus pymodbusTCP).
I'm not an expert, but maybe it's possible to use DMS python3.7.7 like a system installed python configuring it with symlinks, etc? Anyone can advise if it's possible and then PIP3 and will work as expected?

OK, I got the solution.
1. Remove any Python3 you have installed in the DSM.
2. as you have Python3.7.7 in domoticz just add the bin folder to the PATH:
Edit etc/profile file and add to PATH "/volume1/@appstore/python3/usr/bin/", it should look like that
"PATH=/volume1/@appstore/domoticz/bin:"

To apply the above run the command: sudo source /etc/profile

Now you can type python3 or python3 -V in terminal, it should run python3.7.7 or show you the version 3.7.7 if you used python3 -V command

Now you can install pip (curl -k https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py | python3) and all you need....

My domoticz log doesn't show any more errors related to python anymore.
Also I can run any python.py scripts from the cron using Python3.7.7
PS. for the cron I had to edit crontab file (etc/crontab) and add python Path "PATH=/volume1/@appstore/domoticz/bin"

Just a silly other question, I get random errors now from OpenZWave. Already removed the old hardware and hard reset the controller but got this message:

OpenZWave: Exception. Type: 101, Msg: Invalid ValueID passed to IsValueReadOnly, File: /home/dahl/spksrc-master/spk/domoticz_python/work-bromolow-6.2/open-zwave-read-only/cpp/src/Manager.cpp (Line 1789) OpenZWave.cpp:4961

Seems like there is a reference to your install @jumbotroll?

Yes! I got the errors on my DS220+ also when connecting Domoticz with Phoscon App with the Conbee2 USB stick. It was stating that there were missing pip requests and could not install them on the normal way.
Setting the right path made it possible to execute: sudo -H pip3 install requests
Now I see finally all zigbee devices!

Thanks
