Weird problem with Zipato/Schlage Mini RFID Keypad

Post by Toumal »

Hey there,

I have the Zipato / Schlage Mini RFID Keypad and it was working fine for weeks. Then I suddenly my family complained that they couldn't disarm our alarm with the keypad anymore. Lo and behold, I check the logs and see this:

2016-05-27 06:41:40.887 Error: OpenZWave: Node not found! (NodeID: 267, 0x10b)

The keypad blinks a weird pattern: 1 second LED on, followed by 0.2 seconds off, repeat. Keypresses do not produce any effect. I have to pull the keypad from the wall, then reattach it - then everything works again for a while. I tried changing wakeup interval and all that, changed batteries, no joy.

Ok so I thought, perhaps the keypad is broken, and ordered another one. Set it up as usual (keypad code enrollment), added it to my alarm scripts, made sure it's in group 1, and yipee: works great.

I attached it to the wall, tested it several times and thought that was the end of it.

5 minutes later I come to the keypad and it's blinking the dreaded 1-second long-on pattern again, and keys don't do anything.

I have a handheld 4-button remote and that one works flawlessly. I'm ready to throw this rfid keypad on the floor and go at it with a hammer.

Any ideas about what could cause this?

Ever found out what was causing this? And/or solved it?

Well one of the keypads seems to work now. The other one still gets this issue now and then.

All in all, the whole thing is simply not reliable. I'm going for a hardwired keypad that I'm integrating myself.
