Domoticz is getting more and more complete by collecting data/interfacing different manufactures hardware, and the basic functions "if that, do that", fine...
However I am missing more advanced possibilities, for example I have floor heating in my villa that I now control by room temp sensors and and a ETH8020 relay board. I made Virtual Thermostats to assign setpoint for each room"temp less x heat on / temp over x heat off" in Blockly, it works but my old mechanical thermostats did the job in the same stupid way, nothing really won in terms of comfort or economy.
This real-time "On/Off" method would be just fine in a direct heat radiator system but in a slow responding low temp floor heating system you need to be proactive, i.e. start heat x-time before heat actually will be needed.
So, as Domoticz have support for several on-line Weather Forecast providers it would be perfect to use that data as one input parameter for proactive controlling the heating system. The problem is that in order to do something useful with forecast data you need some kind of algorithm based "thermostats" and you cant do it as a normal user from Domoticz.
There is external system hardware and software's out there to use, but it would be just perfect if it was available directly in Domoticz, for many reasons.. I would suggest a new Plug-In function. It would be the perfect "next step" in Domoticz evolution, for sure a success over time as people would be able to write more or less advanced Apps to support different functions and hardware's, etc. Yes, in this case the "Hardware" menu/list should be replaced with "Plug-In's" section. In this way each plug-in would better be just viewed from Domoticz as "browsing" available Plugins, and actual versions of them, it would be possible to update a Plug-in separately from Domoticz! The now exiting hardware list should be gone, and Plug-in method would make life easier for both Apps and Domoticz developers I suppose?

Functions/Apps plug-in's to replace the "Hardwares menu" ?
