Fibaro RGBW - switch inputs trigger scenes ?

Post by pascalspits »

Hi,
I have different Fibaro RGBW Zwave dimmers, each controlling 4 LED lamp circuits (RGBW is set up as 4 independent channels).
There are also wall switches (push buttons) directly connected to these dimmers (inputs) to manually control the light circuits.

All is working well, but I'm wondering if there is some setting to *disconnect* these dimmer inputs from their dimmer outputs ?
Let me explain :
Now when I push wall-switch 1 on a dimmer, it activates the light circuit on output channel 1 (like : it manually controlls this dimmer output)
What I would like is that this input DOESN'T directly control the dimmer output, but would be detected by Domoticz as a seperate switch (input)
Then I could program domoticz to let this switch call scenes, or perform different functions on multiple pushes and other things ...
This way I could have my wall switches do many more things than just controlling this 1 dimmer output ...

Is this in any way possible ?

When I read the Fibaro manual of this dimmer I notice that it van be configured to read-out multiple sensors, using the inputs ... so I was wondering ...

Did you ever do this as I'm thinking of something very similar. I want to add some switches to the side of my bed that will run different scenes

nope, as you can see ... never got any answer to my post :-(

so I'm still "in the dark" on this ...

I was looking at the same on a dimmer switch (not specifically on the RGBW)
By my understanding the switches are linked directly on a channel based on the configuration status.
no switches linked to a zwave module can be used to activate scenary
In the zwave protocol (and nor in domoticz) you do not have the contro of the physical switch.

What you have to do is to get a scenario button (like fibaro FGPB-101 or Remotec ZRC-90 with some issue in its integration in domoticz)
Again... you can use a ZWave remote control (Aeontec)
I make a workaround using a chuango remote (from my old broken alarm system) running 433Mhz, I now have 4 buttons (scenaries) that I can activate as soon as I get home
The most dangerous phrase in any language is:
"We always done this way"

I see ... so I need some other way to get my buttons into Domoticz ...

maybe ESP8266 with GPIO extension (MPC23008) for 8 inputs ?

... anyone have any experience with this for Domoticz ?

or maybe an ESP8266 ESP 12 ?
this one has enough GPIO to connect 4 wall-switches, or not ?

any tips about this ?
