Limitless lamp goes up to 255%?

All my limitless-lamps goes up to 255% - is this a feature I'm not getting, or is it a bug?

255 normally is 100% of 1 byte (8 bit)

Yeah, I know that - but why isn't it converted to 100% like the rest?
