Domoticz esp8266 ds18b20

Post by pmalvino »

hello
I am building a home automation system with a raspberry running Domoticz and several esp8266 to control windows blinds, ligths and solar water panel.
you can see my tipical board in https://easyeda.com/pmalvino/blinds_con ... -QaUNHBvN5.
tbe control is working ok but i am trying to configure Espeasy and Domoticz to read a DB18B20 sensor and i cant do it.
in the espeasy i can see the temperature value, but in the domoticz page the value dont update.
can you help me?

Did you also set a 'Delay' of 60 or so for the temperature sensor in ESPEasy?

Got it working... flashed the ESP with Espeasy version 120, 512 kb (strange, black seems to be 1024 but that does not work on mine) and a DS18B20 on the GPIO2.

I see the esp wireless, log in, chance the settings to my netowork and reoboot. Shows up in my network then after which I log in, configure the IP adress and credentials for domoticz, assign the DS18B20 and submit. Then the right temp shows up in the esp log and also in domoticz I see the correct temp in the system. But only a few minutes, then the ESP disappears from the router (gets an IP assigned based on the MAC) and from there, reflash and all and with some luck back working... but all seems very unstable...

Any ideas ?

First try without a device..
To let the esp run..
Create a dummy in domoticz for the uptime and the ram..
Check how long the stable time is...
Then a sensor..[ ds18b20] can be instable to.
Use a motion or ...
And use a other pin...
GPIO 2 = D4 = antenna pin..
check pinout esp...

Ok, up an drunning now without anything attached... still... flashing 512 works, 1024 doesn't. But as long as it keeps running I'm happy.

Edit... 5 mins later... gone......

Make a dummy counter..
An set this in the ESP so you can monitor the esp...

Running for x time then place a sensor [ Ds incl resistor ] ...

now flashed through Arduino IDE.. so far so good..... dummy counter made and the esp pointed to that ID... lets see

Edit : New record... 23 minutes online..... and still running. And keeping in contact with Domoticz too apparently 8-)

There is no problem when the esp offline for 1 or 2 seconds...
After that the esp works like charme..
Sometime my esp runs 30 days. ad sometime 1 day..
No problem by me..

This worked once... after that, no more...

http://www.esp8266.nu/index.php/Tutoria ... y_Firmware

and now back to the normal flashing but again, after restart (and remove the gnd from gpio0 at power down) no return of network....

Image

I have it connected to a FDTI232 like this

Image

and power down after flash, remover the wire to GPIO0 and then repower. Then, sometimes it shows up with the ESP_0 network but mostly it does not... very irattic.....

starting to think... maybe power it from a seperate source... ? No idea how much a FDTI232 can supply but it flashes my arduinos no problem....

Don't know exactly where I read it, but I believe it's generally advised not to use these small usb-to-serial adapters for permanently powering ESPs. I have mine running on separate PSUs (a 3/5 V voltage regulator and a basic 5V PSU from AliExpress).
Raspberry Pi 4 - RFXtrx433 - CC2531 Zigbee - Opentherm Gateway - P1 smart meter - Netatmo - Philips Hue - ELV Max! - ESP8266 DIY water meter - 6 x Sonos - 4 x IP cameras - Wall mounted tablet + Dashticz - Google Home integration - MANY switches/sensors
