Cannot access web interface from LAN

Post by rjay »

Not sure if I am missing something here or something is amiss with my Windows config somehow.

I can get to the Domoticz web interface on the local computer it is installed on but cannot get to it from any other LAN PC browsers. Is there any setting I have to "enable" for this to be available on the LAN?

Can't see anything obvious, no other webservers on same port, no firewall issues etc.

It does sound like a firewall issue, what did you do to make sure it is not?

Some more information about your network might help.

What's the OS are you using?
can'you access locally? lan-lan or on the same computer?
if you are into an IPv6 environment, try to use the v6 address ( http://[v6 address like 0000:1111:2222:3333:4444::0]:8080 )

Firewall is off on the PC, other web interfaces have worked prior on the device. It sends out updates fine to Kodi Media Centre devices added to Domoticz

apologies, firewall was off for Domains (the PC's are all part of a domain) but was on for public or guest networks. Turning that off sorted it. No idea why as both PC's are on the domain.

Anyway will create a rule

Just to make it more confusing, turned the firewall back on for public and it still works. Quite obviously a glitch in the matrix which is why I was having trouble resolving it in the first place!

Don't you hate it when that happens, just last week I contact Microsoft support since we had a problem with one of our workstations, that same day the problem disappeared before they could look at it and hasn't come back yet.

Glad it's fixed though.

haha! I am sure there is a reason for it if I searched through logs. its as if a setting wasn't updating and the turning off and back on of the firewall forced it to update. All other web interfaces and traffic was going in and out from that PC fine!

Oh well, back to checking out other Domoticz features :) thanks for your help
