IKEA, interesting news

Use this forum to discuss possible implementation of a new feature before opening a ticket.

Went to IKEA today, they are introducing their own wireless lamps etc in October, would love to see someone in the forum making them work with domotics

at least there will be dimmable led lights where you also can choose colour, as soon as i know anything more i will post here.
saw 1 demo product (was not public yet, kept in a drawer for awaiting public release)

just thought id tell everyone :)

I'd love to see some smaller lights/lamps that would fit inside drawers or inside/outside other furniture for moodlighting or just plain illumination at a smaller scale than 'regular smart bulbs'. I would prefer z-wave support out of the box, but that's just me and my wishful thinking.

Maybe there's already plenty of options, I've been out of the loop for a bit.. But it would be nice if IKEA did something other than 433MHz (forgot what that standard was called). But as OP said, if they release a series of wireless lights (and battery powered for my intended use) I hope we can get them to work in Domoticz.

I don't really mind paying for Fibaro/Aeon Labs stuff. They usually do good quality thingamabobs, but I have this feeling that if some cheaper lighting were to come out of the woodwork that doesn't try to light up a whole room, and doesn't require a socket for installation - it'll sell like crazy :D
