Big fat warning!
Doublecheck the frequency they use before buying anything that might end up useless.

Z-Wave uses different frequencies across the globe.

Indeed! I've placed my order with a remark (EU frequency). The good thing is that china is on the same frequency with EU.

But the most interesting thing i found on one of your links is this for DIY projects:
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product ... 42104.html

Does anyone know about the programming on these modules?
Interesting find!
I received the following info from the seller (file size too big for this bord):

Jul_list_price_Smart_home_accessories_English.pdf
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-NJRO ... sp=sharing

and from the Z-wave board Xenon-M1(1).pdf
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-NJRO ... sp=sharing

I have not enough knowledge to judge if this is a working module with the Z-wave SoC (System on Chip) capabilities already on-board.
Derik, please share your experience.

Hope this helps

Haha I had a quick email with them as well, and they sent me the price list as well. I've ordered one of those door sensors, fingers crossed. It's already en route from China. The sales rep told me they're OEM partners, but obviously no further details. I suspect they could be the manufacturer of Benext's door sensor: http://products.z-wavealliance.org/products/75

Same chip...

They ask some nice questions though...
How about the cost of the sdk?

AFAIK you have to pay 3000 USD/year and that's just the membership fee. I've checked their website a long time ago, the SDK also cost a lot as well as the approval. So in general, that's what we pay at the retail store :)

The downside of a closed something (at least from our perpective): sigma designs can have shitloads of money because of that. The good thing: you can control everything, you can approve everything, and all the devices will be compatible with each other. IMHO it's a brilliant business model.

Soon to be replaced with the bigger players getting into the game ;) There is a big rise in home automation, check google trends. The amount of lo energy bluetooth and wifi devices is on a very high rise. The problems I have with them is that the whole man in the middle/you can't say stalker e.t. phone home & cloud thing... luckily most people do not care ;-) And hopefully those nice zwave devices will get cheaper (or not) ;-)

On my follow-on question to the supplier of A-low-cost-fully-integrated-Z-wave-module
( http://nl.aliexpress.com/store/product/ ... 42104.html ):
Is Z-wave already loaded in the chip?
I received the answer:
Yes,z-wave has been loaded chip inside.
That sounds promising.
No SIGMA SDK needed?

The proof of the pudding is the eating!

Hi, I bought the Neo-cam ( EU type / Netherlands ) and it's working fine. It's a unknown device in my Domoticz, but I could select the device to power my light and see the usage. Hope It can be added in Domoticz. I already added it to my livingroom group and stil working.
