RFLink and Synology problems/challenges

Post by To0wnn »

Hi,

I tried anything what was said on the forms the scratch the RESET-EN, 10uF capasitor and the command killall synousbmodemd.

But none of those things makes the RFLink work with my synology it recieves commands but it not transmitting.

2016-04-06 00:48:59.419 RFLink Sending: 10;NewKaku;c2d5a2;2;OFF
2016-04-06 00:49:04.000 Error: RFLink: TX time out.

Any suggestions?

Need some more info!
What NAS do you have and what DSM version?
Domoticz version?
RLink version?
What Revision Arduino Mega R1, R2 or R3?
You may also be able to disable the auto-reset by connecting a 110 ohm resistor from 5V to the reset line.
It can also be some problem with older kernel drivers on some older NAS.
If you like the work I do for synology and domoticz, I appreciate a donation.

I have done some testing on my DS-712+ with DSM 6.0.
Arduino Mega 2560 R3
RESET-EN Jumper is NOT removed!
Synousbmodemd is NOT killed!
For some strange reason this works excellent on DSM 6.0
Did not work without modification on DSM 5.2

I tried the 110 ohm resistor but no luck with it.

The strange thing that when i connect the arduino die L led is burning full power and is slowing dimming and then stays on in dimmed state..

Maybe some USB power problem?
The LED is not dimming here.
Try a external power supply.
And if you have USB Hub, try to connect without USB Hub.

I experience the same problems every now and then after updating Domoticz. Usually upgrading the firmware of the RFLink does the trick. However, just now I got things to work again by first disabling and then again enabling the RFLink via Setup | Hardware in Domoticz. Might work for you as well.

Did any of you got it work yet?

Tried:

- RFLink and arduino work perfectly on my Microsoft drone (W7 laptop)
- updated RFLink R42
- connecting GND - RESET with capacitator

From time to time I get TX errors in Domoticz log.

Does your Arduino have a CH340 or Atmel chip for the usb/serial port?

I got some sequence that it is working now when you reconnect the rf link you must give the command trough ssh killall synousbmodemd.
Then go to Domoticz "Setup>Hardware" select the rflink device deselect "Enable" click on "Update".
Select rflink device again select "Enable" again and click on "Update"

This is what worked for me. I did not make any hardware modifications.

I don't know how to permanently disable the synousbmodemd.
Any suggestions?

Hello,

i have issues with rflink, i have Synology ds216play with domoticz package from jadahl for dsm 6.0 (Domoticz for Synology Stable V3.5877 for DSM 6.0), on synology is dsm 6.0.2. On RFlink is version R45 and connect via USB to synology usb 2.0 (i tried 3.0 too). RFlink (arduino) is with 10uF capacitator in reset-gnd, RFlink is from nodo shop (synology package)

I added on synology hardware RFlink gataway usb, with port /dev/ttyUSB0 ..
in log is only .. RFLink: Using serial port: /dev/ttyUSB0
but not message .. RFLink: Controller Initialized!... and RFLink Detected, Version: xxxxx

Please, any suggestions?? thank you
Synology DS216play, RFlink -> NODO, Domoticz -> jadahl.com

Do you have an Arduino with CH340 or Atmega serial chip?
The Ch340 does not need the anti reset modification..
