P1 suddenly not showing data

Post by ReneSalden »

Suddenly P1 is not showing any values. 433 mhz hardware and S0 hardware are working fine.
No errors in the Domoticz log.
P1 device is shown when using the command "ls -l /dev/tty*"
But no data is shown if I use the command "cat /dev/ttyP1". When using the command "cat /dev/ttyS0" correct values are shown.

Things I did:
  • Disconnect en reconnect P1 cable
    Reboot Raspberry
    Use other USB port
    New image on Raspberry
    Bought new P1 cable
Still no values shown when using the "cat /dev/ttyP1" command.

We are using a Landis Gyr E350 DSMR 4.0.

Has something changed in your energy/gas meter? (I suppose that is where your p1 is connected to)

Tried to test with a Windows laptop to exclude the RPI. I used a script from http://www.smartmeterdashboard.nl/ named "P1NET Datalogger V7.rar".
unfortunately that script is showing an error:

C:\p1>p1.py -c 3 -v 4
P1.py v0.73b
Windows Mode
Python version 3.5.1
Control-C to abort

Startup parameters:
Output mode : screen
PVOutput.org logging : False
Log interval : 1 (once every 10 seconds)
DSMR COM-port setting : 4
COM-port : 3 (2)
Error opening 2. Program aborted.

I don't know if it had something to do with my first problem.
I think I will install a second RPI and with the new cable. If that combination does not function properly I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the energy meter.
