Simple event not working

Post by buxxer »

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to Domotics and Z-wave and would really appreciate some help regarding a simple event creation. I would like a dimmer to turn on a lamp when it gets dark. To me this sounds as easy as it gets, but I have followed some guides and examples to get it working but I keep failing.

I have the following equipment: One Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5, a dimmer plug, a multisensior (Aeotec MultiSensor 6, with Lux meter) and a lamp (of course). The dimmer is working fine when I turn it on and off manually.

This is my blocky event:

The event is active.

"Light sensor 1" gives a value in Lux, currently 55 Lux and in the evening around 5 Lux. I use the Control Panel to view the values.

The problem is that the light does not turn on when the sensor value is below the limit 25 Lux. I have tried to change the data type for the dimmer value from percent to numerical, but it doesn't help.

It feels like have missed some thing. Do I need to activate some plug-in for events or should it work out-of-the-box?

Please help.

The "Control Block" you are using is incorrect. This block is for use with "Else If" statements. Try using the Control Block without the Blue icon in the corner. Hopefully that will do the trick :)

I actually started using that block. It didn't work either. That's why I tried this one. But thank you for the suggestion.

Edit: I change the block to this:

I can hardly believe my eyes, but now it's working! Even the logging works. I probably used a numerical value instead of percent for the dimmer control when I used this type of IF block earlier.

Thank you StanHD for the help.
