Help me find a thermostat for Domoticz

Post by anandus »

Hi,

Can you help me out? I'm looking for a thermostat.

* It needs to be (fully) Domoticz-compatible.
* It needs to be an Opentherm modulating thermostat.
* I don't want a subscription, so no Toon or Anna.
* I want local control, so no Essent ICY.
* And preferably not too expensive (like the €200+ Nest3 or Thermosmart) .

The most obvious solution would be a cheap thermostat, like Honeywell Round, and an Opentherm Gateway.
Unfortunately, the OTGW isn't available anymore :(
There's also the Benext Heating Module which I could use instead of OTGW, but I'm not sure if it works properly with Domoticz?

What suggestions do you have? :)

Have a look at ThermoSmart.

I'm happy with it. It works perfect without Domoticz and it works good with Domoticz.

* It needs to be (fully) Domoticz-compatible. It is fully compatible.
* It needs to be an Opentherm modulating thermostat. It is.
* I don't want a subscription, so no Toon or Anna. No monthly costs.
* I want local control, so no Essent ICY. It has basic control on the display. Programming has to be done with a smartphone/tablet/computer
* And preferably not too expensive (like the €200+ Nest3 or Thermosmart) . Sorry. It is expensive.

Have you checked the Nest thermostat? I've the older version and it is working great. That older version doesn't support Opentherm but the new release does if I'm correct.
Also the design is really nice.
