Hello,
I am hoping to implement a bit of home automation with Domoticz - e.g. ability to turn lights on and off with smart phone, send me a text if someone rings my door bell, automatic blind opener etc.
However, I also need a smart thermostat and a security system for my house (burglar alarm and smoke detector).
I know that Domoticz can control heating and deal with security but I prefer to have separate systems for each for the following reason:
1. Nest (which I am planning to get) appears to still be the most sophisticated way for controlling the central heating.
2. I cannot trust the safety of my family or property with a system that I might accidentally mess up.
I am essentially going to have three systems running.
My question - is Domoticz able to integrate, in any way with either?
For example:
* Can it use the Nest thermostat for temperature purposes, rather than a separate temperature probe?
* Rather than have separate door sensors for both the Pi and security system, can Domoticz use the door sensors that come with the security system?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks in advance - hoping to get up and running with Domoticz shortly.
Advice involving integration with security system and smart thermostat.
