Fibaro Dimmer2 - turn on, 1second = off

Post by steppi »

Hello everyone!
I have a system of Domoticz Raspi2 + Z-Wave USB.
I connected a Fibaro Dimmer2 4 LED spotlights.
Issue: When I turn on the dimmer2 from Domoticz the lights turn on and off quickly, so even if I try sometimes.
The system to fix the problem is to move the% bar and then stabilizes and it works, I have to do this every time I turn on.
Maybe I should touch the advanced parameters from
Config-Hardware-OpenZwave-Config-FibaroDimmer2

Thanks if someone helps me

Set the max dim level in the dimmer settings.

Possibly the LED' 's consume below the rated minimum, below 15-20 Watts the dimmer acts strange. I have similar experiences.

Thanks so much!
Where do I find the parameter that you say?
Could this be?

Code: Select all

2. Maximum brightness level: (%) (attuale: 80)

Parameter is set automatically during the calibration process. Options for changing parameter 2-99. Default 99.

Ok so what can I do? I have to change some parameters?

Settings > hardware > setup (Zwave Controller) > select the dimmer and send the settings to the dimmer.

For the LED you might need the bypass2

I have not installed the bypass 2, what is the use? Because if I move a little dimmer bar times then it works?
I paste here all Domoticz settings - Fibaro dimmer2:

English please...
The bypass effectively just adds an extra load to the circuit. I think the dimmer needs a minimum load to start up properly.

Try set setting number 2 to 75 for now.

then press the button at the bottom of the page. setting should me stored to the dimmer.

Test your dimmer, if it's still the same try set the max dim level lower.

I tried to Set N * 2 ---> 75
But nothing has changed, it's always the same turns on and turns off immediately :(

What problem encountered? Like mine? You lit up when it goes off? But then if you move a bit 'of times the dimmer bar then stabilises?

Just as this video?

Mine went on and the off again, or the even not on at all. Just replace one of you LED's with a conventional 20 Watt or more bulb to find out if that helps.

Browsing the web I realized that the problem is as you say: LED bulbs consume too little and make the problem ..
Is solved by installing the Fibaro Bypass2, I ordered it on Amazon, comes Monday.
As soon as I mount and will update!

Today I put on the Fibaro Bypass2 Dimmer2.
Unfortunately I have not solved my problem .. :(
I think we should change any parameter to OpenZwave control panel ..
I tried to change any parameter, but do not know where

Please do the following:

Go to Setting > Hardware > Setup (at the zwave controller) > Node management > Control panel
Once your there.
Press on the Dimmer 2 > select Configuration
At the parameter: Force auto-calibration: select Start auto-calibration of the load WITH Fibaro Bypass and press Submit

The Dimmer will now auto-calibrate with the bypass installed.

Thank you for the help you're giving me!
But unfortunately this step I've also tried it, I do not change anything.
The real problem is that on the wall button (S1 on dimmer2) everything works perfect, the error is on the Z-Wave part (via web on domoticz)
Do you think there is the system for updating the firmware of UZB Z-wave and Dimmer2?
