New Domoticz hardware - "MySensors over MQTT"

Post by RidingTheFlow »

I would like to suggest & discuss the following feature:
Basically the Domoticz hardware device which allows to define a MQTT topic that will act as medium for MySensors protocol transport (both for send and receive).

This is to provide following enhancements:
- currently MQTT hardware provides JSON-based topics, but these require manual virtual device creation and/or doing extra processing via frameworks like NodeJS
- currently MySensors has TCP transport, but its very simple and lacks features which proper MQTT broker provides - e.g. security, QoS, filtering, etc

MySensors over MQTT would allow you to have best of both worlds - manageability, security & flexibility of MQTT transport and using MySensors protocol as specifically tailored for automation devices and already supported by Domoticz on very good level.

Implementing it would look like fairly simple task of creating bridge device (since both MQTT and MySensors already supported in Domoticz), and I don't mind doing it myself - but I'd love to hear what people think.
