Alexa Voice Services have opened up their development to allow an RPi to hook into AVS via a new App, and others have also gone down a similar route albeit separately via AlexaPi tools, more details on my blog.

Re: Amazon Alexa Integration on the Raspberry Pi
You mean, what 'Alexa' is ?
It is an Amazon Echo device. You can not buy this in the Netherlands at the moment, i think that Amazon is working to get multiple language supported first.
Bought mine in America, delivered in America, and took it home.
At the moment you can only talk English to the device, which is not so bad.
Like "Alexa, turn of my Lights" or "Alexa, turn on the livingroom lights"

Why do you link to your own blog when all it does is linking to real source?boudicca wrote:Alexa Voice Services have opened up their development to allow an RPi to hook into AVS via a new App, and others have also gone down a similar route albeit separately via AlexaPi tools, more details on my blog.

This should be considered spam.
Anyway, i like that we dont need the pushbutton anymore, but it looks like the installation guide has quite a few steps too many

edIT: I guess i was too quick, seems like the hardware button is just replaced with a software button.
