Hi,
It would be nice to have a visual identification of a zwave (hardware) device, set an ID or name, and have it referenced in the device list. With a lot of devices I need a second administration sheet to keep track of the device and the included hardware.

Well you already can.
In Setup->Hardware->'your Zwave stick' you get the list of nodes.
They have a NodeID like '026 (0x1a)'
The part between the brackets is the NodeID in hexadecimal.
If you go to Setup->Devices and type that number (without the brackets) you get the devices for that node.
You might need to sort on hardware to exclude non-Zwave devices with the same id in the name.
