Z-vave Door Locks working fine in Domoticz

Post by cpighin »

:) I would like to use a Z-vave Door Lock proved as working fine in Domoticz and I ask to people which have installed such devices to share their opinion.

I would like to choose between following articles but any good suggestion is welcome:

a) Yale Security YRD220-ZW-619 Real Living Electronic http://www.amazon.com/Yale-Security-YRD ... H8SSYG55YH

b) Schlage Connect Camelot Touchscreen Deadbolt http://www.amazon.com/Schlage-Connect-T ... ock+z-wave

c) Vision Deadbolt Door Lock ZM1702 http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-vision- ... ith-handle

:) Have you installed a z-wave lock in your house by Domoticz.

Do you really trust domoticz with the safety of your house? And does your insurance? Domoticz is not designed as a security system, so to get an unbreakable system, you need a lot of work and even then....

I agree - even my alarm integration is one way & I insist upon VPN for external access. I'm a big Domoticz fan but from a stability & security point of view I wouldn't even trust an off the shelf system like a Fibaro Home Centre never mind my Pi.

Thanks for your interest :)

Given that in the new house I do not plan to accommodate precious objects, my intention is to use Domoticz together with a video surveillance system for the outside and I trust that this will be enough ;)

Have you any suggestion on the matter?

Yeah. Dont do it. Use it for an inside door, but dont protect the outside of your house with domoticz. Buy a security aimed system for this task.

Does anyone has a working Vision ZM1702 doorlock in Domoticz?
Mine doesn't seem to work. It is recognised but in devices it appears as 'Locked' with status 'Closed'. Cannot seem to configure anything.
