Greenwave NS310-F not connecting

Post by Plantje »

I have a Greenwave powernode and an Aeon USB stick. So far so good: the powernode is connected and I am currently setting things up (with which I accidentally switched off my mediacenter PC running my Domoticz :) )

Now the NS310-F that I also have doesn't get connected. I have the wheel on the same black box (that seemed to be the best option) and tried to connect several times, but Domoticz doesn't see the device. Whereas the powernode was automatically detected after adding the Aeon USB.

Do I have to reset the device?

Hi, the powernode has 2 buttons a powerbutton on the front and a sync button on the bottom of the device. This is what you have to do:

First plugin the powernode and press the sync button. Check if the green lights are blinking clock-wise or counter clock-wise.

If the green lights are blinking counter clock-wise the powernode probably needs to be excluded from the controller first. You can do this by putting the controller in exclude mode in Domoticz and then press the sync button. It should exclude the device.

If the green lights are blinking clock-wise then the powernodes need to be included. Put the controller in include mode in Domoticz and then press the sync button. This should include the device.

If the device is not in the list of z-wave devices in Domoticz and the green lights are blinking counter clock-wise if you press the sync button then you need to reset the device. You can do this by pulling the powernode out of the powersocket. Waiting a few seconds, then first press the power button (NOT THE SYNC BUTTON) and keep the button pressed while plugging it back in to the powersocket. Keep pushing the power button until all green lights blink at once. Then you can put the controller in to include mode in Domoticz, press the sync button on the powernode, and your powernode is included.

Yes it worked... for the biggest part :)

I have the plug in my network and it is showing up as a switch and it is possible to show the power consumption. However, power usage is not available. For the powernode strip that I also have I can see a switch, kWh and Watts for each outlet. For this one I can only see the switch option and the Watts. Or am I mistaken and doesn't this one record the kWhs?

I think I had this with the powernode strip as well, but I can't recall what I did to fix it. Perhaps remove it and add it again.

It does. I have got 6 of the powernode 1's and all work. Just be patient. First you see watts and a switch. If enough power is used a kwh device will appear. Great to hear you got it working.

Haha. In the mean time I have already removed the device and added it again. Really nice to make these first steps in Z-Wave and Domoticz. I heard it is kind of addictive :)

I will wait and see when the last part of this powernode appears then. Would there be a way to force to check for updates?

Edit: a way to ask for updates would be really nice. I have been using this outlet for almost 6 hours now with a constant load of at least 200 Watt and it doesn't seem to be sending any kWh data.

Edit2: a reboot fixes that issue. I saw someone mention it here: http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=9871 How come I didn't think of this myself? Anyway: Thanks a lot!

Currently I have two "new" Greenwave power adapters. This time the black ones type NS112-F. However, they don't display as kWh! None of them! I have rebooted my Domoticz server several times since.

You should be patient as kWh will be added to devices when the plug is in use. So connect a watercooker or something to the plug, cook the water and wait a little. You should then find new devices with kWh.

And you may need to enable polling.

Polling is enabled since the beginning.
I have connected a vacuum cleaner to the node, did some vacuuming for about 15 minutes. I did notice that the Watts increased to about 800 Watt. But still no Watthour. Currently I have connected a monitor to it. In general it uses about 45 Watt, but after a while it goes into power save mode :)

Perhaps it is a combination and now I also need to restart the Domoticz server.

Yesterday the monitor has been connected for hours. Today again, I have the monitor connected. Just restarted the Domoticz server, but still no kWh. I'll get back to work first and see what happens.

Did you also enable the detection of new devices?

I think I did :) Just checked it... I see that the checkbox next to "Accept new hardware/sensors" (had to translate from Dutch) is ticked. Next to that there is a button to allow new hardware/sensors for 5 minutes. Hit that as well and all sorts of data is coming in. But no "General/kWh" for those two plugs yet.
I also noticed that the box next to "Hide sensors of inactive hardware" was ticked; I have unticked that now.

Edit: had both nodes on several power consuming devices for days now, but really...no kWh shows up. It's really not like I'm used to with the other power nodes.... Normally after a while and at least after restarting the Domoticz server the kWh device shows up. Strange... The guy who I bought these nodes from said he saw the kWh values in Vera.

Just restarted my Domoticz server again. I really don't think I am doing anything wrong here... Still no kWh indication!

Perhaps it is not picking it up because at first I had little to no power consumption on the node. I will remove it and add it again. 45 Watt should be sufficient to pick it up...right?

I had something simular, but when I left it alone (one has to sleep once in a while) the next day the the kWh started to show up.
Happened to all 6 of them, so you might just want to try to plug it in and wait 24h.
I found no info about this online, this is just my experience.

I've had that with some of the other nodes as well. However, I've had this one in use for a few weeks now. I must admit: it is not constantly consuming power, but it does run for hours and hours using power.
Perhaps it is better to attach it to a refrigirator or something like it in order to have it use power constantly

Since 7-7 I have the refigirator connected. Let's see what happens. So far still no kWh. Perhaps the issue is that there are periods where the refigirator uses no power. I will try the nodes on a device that uses power 24/7. Let me think....I don't have many devices like that anymore :)
