Telegram issue

Post by Michael85 »

Hi all,

I've some problems with setting up Telegram.
I followed the wiki instructions, but I'm stuck at the Domoticz set up.

What did I do?
I placed the URL en replaced #TO with my Telegram ID. (the URL is working if I open it and I recieve a message)
So my URL is: https://api.telegram.org/bot112233344:A ... t=#MESSAGE

On the left side I selected the smart meter.
Target type: Global variable
Device name: Elektra
Value to send: Usage current
Target variable:
Include unit: yes
Link active: yes

Which value do I need to use in the target variable field?
I hope someone can help me with this :)

Not sure about the Target Variable field, but your post seems to be mixing up two different sets of settings.

First you need to go to the Setup / Settings / Notifications - enable Custom HTTP / Action - put your Telegram ID into the To field, then fill the URL / Action field with:
https://api.telegram.org/bot112233344:A ... t=#MESSAGE
Press the Test button to see if it all works.

Second go to your device and set a notification choosing HTTP as the communication method.
