Hi!
I have moved from another project to Domoticz and got a "reborn" intresset in getting my ZWave component running!
Now I would like to make a clean and nice installation.
Unfortunately I have some dead nodes that I would like to remove from my installation. However, when I try this in domoticz nothing happens.
I have tried to delete them Harware setup page via "Delete". No luck.
Also tried to delete them from NodeManagement -> Control Panel. Both via "Remove Device" and "Remove Failed Node". Nothing works.
Using Aeotec Z-Stick S2 on RaspberryPi with Domoticz 2.3530.
Any advice??!

Re: Unable to remove device?!
I think (!) that a "Hard" reset of your Z-Wave controller will remove all devices. This would require you to re-build the network from nothing - putting each device into reset / factory default and then including it into the new network. I also have had problems in removing only one or two "dead" nodes which I cannot "un-include" because they are broken - my hardware is similar to yours. I would like to know if there is an alternative to the hard reset!
Good Luck!

Re: Unable to remove device?!
Hi and thanks for the reply.
I thought I ask here before doing the "hard" reset...
I was previously using domotiga.nl and was able to remove single nodes. Might have to do with the implementation of OpenZWave or simply an older version that worked.
Still really frustrating that one can´t remove a single node. Hard reset option won´t last in the long run
Do you know if this is due to Aeotec Z-Stick S2?
Would it work better if I buy the Razberry Z-Wave controller?

Re: Unable to remove device?!
I removed a dead zwave node this weekend.
First I deleted all the device nodes, under device menu.
Then I deleted the node iteslf under hardware menu.
Last I deleted the zwcfg_xxxx.cfg and restarted domoticz service to remove all traces of it.

Re: Unable to remove device?!
THANK YOU!
Seems like removing the zwcfg_xxxx.xml did the trick.
I had to do it several times thou... But now all dead nodes are removed!

Re: Unable to remove device?!
I think it's better to just remove the node from the XML instead of deleting the whole file.
All names will be lost also now.

What names would that be? As far as I can remember, I dont think I have had any problems with that.Egregius wrote:I think it's better to just remove the node from the XML instead of deleting the whole file.
