Temperature sensor on FGK-101 - refresh rate

Post by pmaugeri »

Hi. I have plugged a temperature sensor (DS18B20) into my door opening detector (Fibaro FGK-101). I get information of temperature in Domoticz, however the information is reported very few times a day. For instance it is now 9am and the last temperature report is from yesterday at 6pm (more than 12h old):

How can I increase the refresh rate of the temperature report? Is it something to be set on the device itself or on Domoticz?

NB: I have opened and closed my door during the night (after 6pm), just in case it could be related to the door opening refreshing rate :-)

Make the configuration on the hardware node (Node management)

Setup -> Hardware -> Setup (on your openzwave device) -> Find and mark your sensor and the configuration will appear below the device list.
11. Interval between forcing to send report concerning the temperature conditions: (actual: 200)
Interval between forcing to send report concerning the temperature conditions. The forced report is sent immediately after the next reading of temperature from the sensor, irrespective of the settings of parameter no. 12. Value 0 = Deactivates the function. Note: Frequent sending of temperature condition reports is reasonable when the sensor is located somewhere where can occure rapid changes of ambient temperature. In other cases it is recommended to leave the parameter set to the default value.

Thank you !!!
Just for the sake of testing/validating, I have reduced the parameter to 1s and the "Insensitiveness to temperature changes" (param 12.) to 0 to send an update immediately. When I click "Apply configuration for this device" it says the new configuration will take a while if the device is "asleep". So I tried to open/close my door to wake it up but it does not seem to help and the "moon icon" is still displayed:

What is the correct way to wake up my device?

That doesn't seem to be well documented. You might try to remove the front cover and put it back. Or You can just wait until it eventually wakes up. :D

For some reason the temp is updated frequently :-)
