Turn notification button off in virtual devices

Post by rmtucker »

After speaking to gizmocuz about the fact that notifications are not available to virtual Devices.
Is it not possible to gray the button out or turn it off for virtual devices to avoid confusion?

Notifications do work for virtual devices. I use Kodi and LMS notifications on virtual on/off switches. Working fine (using latest stable release).

Please do not disable this functionality

Do virtual devices notify or not then? I agree if it doesn't then the option should be there.

The one on my Voltage device for my UPS doesn't do anything and i've wasted a lot of time testing it.

they likely work just fine for switches, just not your voltage device.. the correct thing to do would be fix the bug, not disable the functionality.. you want to be notified if your power goes out right?

Ah that make sense. Yes that's exactly why I want to do it. :D

No big deal though. I can just add another block to my Lua script that runs every minute to check it.

Not ideal but it will avoid triggering for brief power blips I suppose
