Re: Android app
Thx for this apps.
But I have something weird: it display the good status of the switch but when activate/desactivate one nothing happen in reality ?
Does it use a different port to send than to receive ? ( my domoticz is set on a rasp pi protect by a firewall)

Re: Android app
The port for sending and receiving is the same. Could be that you slide the switch instead of clicking on it.fifise wrote:Thx for this apps.

Haven't figured that one out yet but when you slide the switch from on to off or off to on nothing happens. When you click on it then the switch will be send to Domoticz.
Thanks for mentioning it. I'll see if I can change that.alfred_j_kwak wrote:I have more than one screen of switches and when app do autorefresh it jumps in the top of switch pages.

Did you report the crash? If so I can view the details of the crash in the store. I'll see what's going on.remb0 wrote:My dromotica is crashing while the old version works well.

Work great now thanks a lot for your work.
Just a question are you planning to make it work from internet and if so could you add the option to authenticate on the websever with a certificate (I protect the access to my domotic from internet with the solution given in the wiki of domoticz)

Re: Re : Android app
I'm looking into a way to have both LAN and WAN access configured where the app will switch between the two connections. The two authentication methods currently supported are the two with a username and password. I'll have to see if I can get anything with certificates up and running. Can't give any promises about thatfifise wrote:Oups sorry you are right I was sliding and not clicking.sebas wrote:

You are using the client certificate option mentioned here? http://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Secure_Remote_Access
@remb0. Found the crash report. Seems that somethings going wrong with the displaying of errors. The app can't connect to the Domoticz server and then crashes because it can't show the error dialog. I'll fix that but maybe you can fix it for you by checking your server settings.
Re: Re : Android app
Yes, for me the login/password is too weak to expose my house on the web (working in computer have perhaps make me too paranoidsebas wrote: You are using the client certificate option mentioned here? http://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Secure_Remote_Access

Once it's set, it simplify a little the use from internet: authentication is done by the certificate user install on my android and there is no more need of typing login/password (so no possibility to brut force), the browser popup the users certificate install on the phone and you just have to choose which one to use (most of the time there is only one).

I've found where it crashes and got it to crash less but it's not completely gone. Sometimes it still crashes for some reason. I'll be working on that some more for the next update.

Re: Android app
Hi!
I have yet to get a Domoticz system since I've not moved into my new house yet. I have also not read this entire thread. Still I thought I'd tell you two functions that I will want when I've gotten my system and that is Notifications and Widgets. Both control widgets and information widgets.
Ciao!

Re: Android app
I just published a new version to the Play store. You should be receiving it the coming hours.
The update brings better stability in using the app. When Domoticz doesn't return anything the app handles this better and gives better error messages.
Also an about page is added.

Here the same story. I've updated and my settings are correct (and I've resaved them), but the switches (and other) pages gives me an error.

Re: Android app
Did you get a notification of the update? Normally I'm reminded by the Play Store that an update is available but I haven't had that yet. When I go to the app in the store manually it does show the update button.remb0 wrote:I have updated. But u tot only the new ! Sign. No devices etc available. I'll update the app on my phone and see if I can get a list of switches etc. During testing yesterday it did work.

Apparently something went really wrong with this. I'll fix it today.

Re: Android app
I'll wait and see. I'm not home again until late this evening. Otherwise the other people might also not be able to use the app.sebas wrote:Checked to see if I can pull the update from the store but that's not possibleXL-Network wrote:Here the same story. PS. I have an Nexus 4 with Android 4.4.2 and it showed an icon in the notification bar that said I had an update (just to reply to the question you asked remb0). Clicked it in anticipation with the earlier mentioned result. Looks like it cannot reach the server.
PS2. My setup has a Ngnix reverse proxy between the phone and Domoticz. Just basic authentication, nothing fancy. Maybe there is a problem there but I could not imagine it.
TIP. Maybe you want to rename the property 'Domoticz URL' in the Settings page to 'Domoticz hostname' (because that's what it actually is). And you might want to hide the password/change it to stars (now it's readable).
