FA21RF smoke detector not resetting

Post by tomeaton »

Hello all,

I have added my FA21RF smoke detector to domoticz and it partially works. If I press the test button on the smoke alarm Domoticz registers this as a panic event. If I press the button in Domoticz the smoke alarm sounds for abotu ten seconds (the time it takes if pressing the physical test button). However when I created some smoke (burning a piece of paper) to trigger the alarm the reset button in Domoticz would not turn it off. Does anyone know why not?

Thanks

The reset button is for the gui in domoticz only
The smoke sensor will reset (silent) itselfs when it finds it is OK todo this, or when no sensor is sending an alarm trigger in 10 seconds

That's unfortunate, I was hoping to be able to silence the alarm from Domoticz!

You can not, it will stop by itself

I use the smoke detector to make some noise in case of an alarm using Blockly events.

I have found out that to activate the alarm I have to send "On" which results in a RFXCOM signal that triggers the smoke detector. From the above I now understand that it is not possible to reset/silence the alarm, but that it stops itself.

No problem, but after the alarm situation is over I want to reset the alarm and the status in the GUI automatically. The problem however is, that if I set the status to "Off" with Blockly another RFCOM signal is sent that triggers the smoke detector again... :?

However, I have found out that the only way to reset the GUI from Panic to Normal is to use the "Off" command. Using "Panic_End", "Normal" or "Stopped" seems not to do anything, no RFXCommands, but also no state change of the variable (as can be checked with the "show status" button in the Event Editor).

So the question is: how can I reset the Smoke Detector in the GUI automatically without sending an RFXCOM signal that triggers the smoke alarm again?

same problem here, please let me know if you find some response on this.
Would also like to switch back from Panic to Normal without having to trigger the sound again.

Hi, you have to use a JSON command to call the Domoticz API.
